Atem A.K.A. Yami Yugi, Pharaoh, Other Yugi and Spirit of the Puzzle is one of the protagonists of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime and manga series.

Atem is an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh who saved the world thousands of years ago. His soul was sealed in the Millennium Puzzle but lost his memories and forgot his true name in the process. When Yugi Muto solved the Millennium Puzzle it caused Atem to merge with Yugi and he became known as Yami Yugi. Yami Yugi appears when Yugi Muto is dueling or in a dangerous situation.

Originally a dark and dangerous person who hates to lose and would win no matter the cost, over the course of the series Yami Yugi learns the values of friendship, trust, unity and kindness from Yugi and his friends.

Yami Yugi is one of the few characters in the series who is capable of using the Egyptian God Cards; Slifer the Sky Dragon, Obelisk the Tormentor and The Winged Dragon of Ra.

In the English dub version of the anime by 4Kids Entertainment, Yami Yugi was voiced by Dan Green.
Greg Abbey was originally cast in the role, and even recorded the character for a promotional video, but he moved to Los Angeles briefly and rejected the role. Abbey would later return to 4Kids to voice Tristan Taylor instead.

In a lesser known English dub by Odex Ltd Yami Yugi was voiced by Chuck Powers.
