EDITOR'S OPINIONAlright folks here is the other blue-haired lady that was in the first installment of the Ys series namely Leah whom at first appears to be a wandering poet looking for her lost Harmonica but is lets just say revealed to be more later on. In Ys Book I & II she was voiced by Louise Vallance (doing one of her occasional performances in California even though she normally works in Canada). In the American TurboGrafx CD release of that game Leah was oddly enough renamed Lair most likely due to some translation error but while yes Leah is more of an actual name than Lair but its no big deal really. Fortunately say what you will about the slightly odd name issue but Louise's performance for the role worked just fine though. Louise's voice for this role has a nice moderate youthful tone and Louise's performance has a pleasant calm tone that's well suiting for the role. Overall its one of the better performances in the game and is probably one of the better performances that Louise has done.
In the English dub of the Ys anime she was voiced by Dorothy Fahn whom is also quite a suitable casting choice. Dorothy is fairly well known for doing a nice moderate youthful voice well and this is no exception. While Leah's depiction in the anime is a bit different from the games Dorothy's work for the role works very well too. Both Dorothy's voice and performance for the role is quite fitting and is one of the better performances in that dub. Overall this is another one that I admit I am not sure which performance will I prefer more here as both did well for this role...
