In the original version of The Thief and the Cobbler headed by Richard Williams, Tack the Cobbler is mute for almost the entirety of the film with the exception of one line provided by Sean Connery at the story's end. In the Majestic Films version (titled "The Princess and the Cobbler") headed by Fred Calvert, Tack is voiced by Steve Lively, who also provides narration in the film. In the Miramax version (titled "Arabian Knight") headed by the Weinstein Brothers, Tack is voiced by Matthew Broderick.
