Rowlf the Dog

Comparison of the voice actors who have been the voice of Rowlf the Dog with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Muppets

Rowlf the Dog is one of the more prominent supporting characters from Jim Henson's Muppet franchise. He is a brown, scruffy dog and also the Muppets' resident pianist. He has a calm demeanour and a level-head.

EDITOR'S OPINION

As per, well, pretty much 33% of the original Muppet characters, Rowlf the Dog was first portrayed by Jim Henson. Rowlf is a great example of Jim's range, as I rarely - if ever - hear Jim slip into a different character while performing Rowlf. His gruff yet friendly voice is unique and yet another iconic performance in a resume of iconic performances.

Katie Leigh voices the baby version of Rowlf in the 1984 Muppet Babies series. Katie delivers a great voice, making Rowlf gruff, yet noticeably young when compared to Jim or Bill.

Bill Barretta took over the role from Jim after his passing. Bill's voice is nearly identical to Jim's.

1.) Bill Barretta
2.) Jim Henson
3.) Katie Leigh
