Vincent Van Ghoul

Comparison of the voice actors who have been the voice of Vincent Van Ghoul with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Scooby-Doo

Vincent Van Ghoul is a recurring character in the Scooby-Doo franchise and is generally a worldly and sophisticated if rather melodramatic character. In The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, he is a renowned magician and warlock with extensive knowledge of the supernatural, while in Scooby-Doo: Mystery Inc., he is a prolific horror film actor whom Shaggy and Scooby are a fan of.

Price is renowned for creating a big presence around him, which makes him a natural fit to deliver the theatrics that Van Ghoul's character calls for. Even in a supporting part, Price's dedication to livening up his dialogue in the face of other production aspects that fail to compliment him is admirable. Meanwhile, LaMarche does a pretty decent impression of Price's performance (even if he does veer rather close to Toucan Sam territory) and maintains the character's hammy persona while giving him a sense of down-to-earthness to go with this incarnation's comparatively mundane persona. Both actors do well with their respective versions, but I'm leaning toward Price here.
