Mokiiligan Swagger (mostly known as Mok Swagger) is the main antagonist of the Rock & Rule. He is an infamous centenarian musician who seeks to immortalize himself by unleashing a cataclysmic demon for his own benefit, with the goal of revenge upon the whole world. Mok seeks out the perfect voice for unleashing hell on Earth with the perfect voice, which he finds inside Angel.
Let's take a trip back to the eighties to celebrate a movie that premiered a good thirty six years ago with.. Mok Swagger!
The character himself is largely based off on the likes of Mick Jagger, but he's more than just looks. He has the showmanship of David Bowie, the charisma of Tim Curry, wrapped into a delicious flashy eighties villain that's worthy of the time.
Don Francks provides the speaking voice of Mok, and he does it so deliciously, absolutely chewing up the scenery with his deep growling voice and borderline insane performance, going along with a mixture of trippy animation to make a seriously underrated villain.
Lou Reed performs "My Name Is Mok", and his signature dull voice does the ancient god justice, as well as giving a kickass performance too.
Iggy Pop also sings for the musician, lending his vocals for "Pain and Suffering". While he in his own right is a great singer and also provides a cool song, I don't think his too deep- almost too guttural tone is a good fit for Mok. Still, he's supposed to be summoning the devil here, so I'll give it a pass.
No one really does bad in this compare, and they're all great in my book. If I had to choose though..
