The Omega Ranger (later revealed to be Sam, a child with Teleportation powers the S.P.D Rangers helped, future self) is from a future where Grumm has taken over and went back in time to help the S.P.D Rangers defeat him. Due to some side effects, Omega had no form outside of his Ranger form and could only change into a ball of light (in reality this was way to save money since they didn't need to spend money on a morphing sequence).
