Power Rangers Power Rangers

Comparison of the voice actors who have been the voice of Goldar with sound clips and images.

Number of Comparisons: 2
Franchise: Power Rangers

Goldar is one of Rita's original henchmen and the first one to be able to handle the rangers single handedly. However as the series continued, Goldar became less of a threat and became more dumb and comical. Once Lord Zedd came, Goldar proved his loyalty and Zedd returned Goldar's wings (though he barley flies).

Of course I have to hand this to Kerrigan, Kerrigan's gravelly voice fits Goldar perfectly as his voice did have a somewhat "dumb brute" feel to it but could also feel menacing. Plus Kerrigan could handle the more comical scenes well. Hell, I've heard talented actors try to do a voice that gravelly and sound voice but Kerrigan sounds completely natural! Now the Super Legends Game had a lot of hot or miss stand ins and sadly Nolan's Goldar is one of the weakest. It's not as natural as Kerrigan, it feels forced and even his performance is lacking. This is Nolan North, how do you make him unfunny? Maybe under better direction (and writing) Nolan could have been better but I can think of several actors better fitting.
