Franklin - sometimes known as Franklin Armstrong - is a recurring character in the Peanuts franchise.  Introduced on July 31, 1968, his appearance marked the first time African-Americans had been positively represented in comics.  While he is good friends with Charlie Brown, Franklin lives in a different neighborhood, and attends the same school as Peppermint Patty and Marcie.  Like Marcie, he is academically gifted, and, to his general bemusement, often ends up on the receiving end of Patty's anti-education discourses.

(Note:  Jake Miner could not be found at this time, and Duncan Watson's clip may be ineligible due to it being two voices - Franklin and Marcie - shouting simultaneously.)
