EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Mortal Kombat VC section we take a look at this rather divisive character in the series... KURTIS STRYKER! We will actually begin with the Mortal Kombat Defenders of the Realm series in which Stryker was voiced by Ron Perlman. Ron was a rather suitable choice for the role as his voice and performance for the role had a cool-mannered and professional feel to it which suited the role rather well. Ron's voice work on the role had a rather authoritative feel which of course is suiting for someone whom was the leader of a police division before the events of MK3 happened. So to make a long story short Ron Perlman's work as Stryker is a good example of his work and a fine example of the voice work in the show.
Due to how Stryker was such a "mixed bag" with the fans he didn't appear that often after MK3 but even though Stryker was playable beforehand, his official VA debut in the games was in the 2011 Mortal Kombat game where he was voiced by Matthew Mercer. Matt plays the role of Stryker in a slightly different way as Stryker sounds a bit younger and a little less stoic (but still serious of course) but Matt does a good job in getting that to work with the role rather well. Matthew's work on the role still has a rather professional feel that also gives Stryker a bit more of a personality (in which its not too hard to see why more fans are starting to like Stryker). So in other words Matthew Mercer's work as Stryker is a very good example of his work and a fine example of the voice work in this game. Overall I must say that both of these guys did rather well with this role in their own way.
