Baraka is the leader of the Tarkatans, and a long-serving member of Shao Kahn's entourage. As befits his race, he lusts for battle and blood (as well as victims for food), and serves those who are willing to give him that. However, he is also willing to improve his people's standing from their standard position as expendable soldiers. When Kitana offered him that chance, he cautiously accepted, and now stands beside her as an equal partner in the rule of Outworld.
