Markal is a Necromancer, and a secondary antagonist in the Might and Magic franchise. A pupil of the great Sandro, he served as counsellor to Queen Fiona of the Griffin Empire, using his position to create a secret death cult. After Fiona's death, he was exposed and exiled by her brother and son, an act for which he vowed revenge. The chaos in the Empire during the reign of Isabel gave him just the chance he was waiting for, and, as a master manipulator, he plans to make the most of it.
