Scott Lang is a Marvel Comics superhero first appeared in The Avengers #181 (March 1979). He is the second person to take up the mantle of Ant-Man. Scott Lang was an electrical engineer who turned to a life of crime to support his family. He was eventually apprehended by the police and sent to prison for three years. After he served his time, Scott managed to find a job at Stark International. However, his daughter Cassie was diagnosed with a heart condition and out of desperation, Scott returned to a life of crime. Scott broke into Hank Pym's house and stole his Ant-Man suit and shrinking canisters. With the new paraphernalia, Scott broke into Cross International and rescued Dr. Erica Sondheim, a world leading medical doctor, from Darren Cross. With Sondheim's help, Cassie was able to recover. Scott Lang was willing to return the Ant-Man suit and turn himself to the authorities, but Pym was willing to let him keep it, provided that Lang use its powers for good. With the Ant-Man suit, Scott is able to shrink to the size of an insect and communicate with ants with the Ant-Man helmet.
