Magnus

Comparison of the voice actors who have been the voice of Magnus with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Kid Icarus

Magnus is a human swordsman and a prominent supporting character in Kid Icarus: Uprising. A muscular, crusty mercenary, Magnus finds himself teamed up with Pit when it turns out that they're both after Dark Lord Gaol, with Magnus having history with the armoured villain. Magnus is gruff with a biting sense of humour and typically motivated by money rather than the goodness of his heart, so he often finds himself at odds with Pit's happy-go-lucky attitude. It's implied that this is a mask for the loss of his child, but this doesn't come up much.

EDITOR'S OPINION

While both are brilliant voice actors, I feel that Fred Tatasciore will take this one by virtue of being the original, having room to create the character, and more material to work with and flesh Magnus out through.  Patrick Seitz was definitely a good replacement, but the interesting thing is I find his casting intriguing for another reason. While he does a pretty good job at emulating Fred Tatasciore, I'd actually sort of wonder how it'd have gone down if he played Magnus in the original game and was allowed to flesh him out without having to take after a previous performance, because he's such a natural choice for the part. All things considered though, he's a rock-solid substitute and the casting people made a good call.
