Franchise: Guilty Gear

Ky Kiske is the deuteragonist of the Guilty Gear fighting games, originally hailing from France. With a strong sense of loyalty and justice, he is a former commander of the Holy Order, who led them to victory during the war against the Gears. His sense of honour leaves him somewhat prudish though, as he tends to get flustered when fighting characters like Jam. Ky's strong sense of morality frequently puts him at odds with Sol Badguy, leaving the two as rivals to the end. His life policy is to either be just, or be dead.

In Guilty Gear 2, Ky has greatly mellowed and matured. Now the king of Illyria, he entrusts the life of his son, Sin, to Sol.

EDITOR'S OPINION

This VC is a tricky one when I look at what I envision as being right for Ky. To me, I always think of Ky as being the hotblooded but just young man he is in the fighting games. Sam Riegel is portraying him in this incarnation and does it well enough, though he has played characters very similar to this in the past. Liam O'Brien is playing the more mature version, but he does it pretty naturally. His work as Akihiko Sanada convinces me he could pull off the younger, fighting version of Ky theoretically.

Of course, Liam O'Brien IS in Xrd's dub, but as a completely different character which prevented the chance to hear how he could have done (a similar thing also happened to Ky's son). Anyway, nitpicks involving the casting processes behind Xrd aside, I'm going to say I give the nod to him.
