Rocket Raccoon is a Marvel Comics superhero who first appeared in Marvel Preview #7 (June, 1976). Rocket Raccoon comes from Halfworld, a planet in the Keystone Quadrant inhabited by the mentally ill where the animals were genetically modified with human-level intelligence to take care of the beings living there. Rocket was a law ranger who protected Halfworld from various intergalactic threats. One such threat was a mole called Judson Jakes, who stole the Halfworld Bible in hopes of taking over Halfworld, but he was stopped by Rocket and the Hulk. Later on, he was chosen by Star-Lord to stop the Phalanx invasion of the Kree empire. Afterwards, he becomes a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocket has the same characteristics of a regular Earth raccoon. However, he is an expert marksman, spaceship pilot, and a tactical genius and leader.
