Liu Bei

Comparison of the voice actors who have been the voice of Liu Bei with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Dynasty Warriors

Liu Bei was the founder of the Kingdom of Shu, one of the Three Kingdoms vying for control over China during the Warring States period. As a distant cousin of the Han emperor Liu Bei technically had a legitimate claim to the throne and he believed that his leadership could lead China into a future full of virtue and benevolence. To accomplish his goal he surrounded himself with men of great talent, chief among them his sworn brothers Guan Yu and Zhang Fei.

Dynasty Warriors portrays Liu Bei as a kindhearted man loyal to his friends and kind to people of all walks of life. However, he is also easily swayed by his emotions. When pushed too far his temper is fiercer than any other person in all the land.

EDITOR'S OPINION

Just in time for the Chinese New Year!

Dave B. Mitchell easily takes the cake in my opinion. Liu Bei is above all else a man of passion. Whether he's lending someone a helping hand or shaking in fury he is always 100% emotionally invested in the moment. Dave really sells that and he can shift between moods without ever sounding out of place. Dan Woren unfortunately suffers from being too underplayed, making Liu Bei sound almost distant which is the last thing he should be. Nathan Turner gets an A for effort, however his acting is less natural than Dave's and he really doesn't bring much new to the role.
