Stretch

Comparison of the voice actors who have been the voice of Stretch with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Casper

Stretch is the skinny leader of the Ghostly Trio - which also includes Stinkie and Fatso - and uncle to Casper. He speaks with a New Jersey accent, and is often the one to come up with plans for the group.

EDITOR'S OPINION

Joe Nipote voices Stretch in the first theatrical Casper film, as well as the animated Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper series. I feel that his is the most iconic portrayal of Stretch, but there's not much else I can say about it.

Jim Ward takes over in the following Casper films, A Spirited Beginning and Casper Meets Wendy. Jim does an uncanny impression of Joe's voice, but still manages to make it his own.

Scott McNeil voices Stretch in the all-CG Casper's Haunted Christmas movie. Using a more 'zany' take on his Rattrap voice, Scott gives Stretch a more sarcastic tone in his portrayal.

In Casper's Scare School, the Ghostly Trio (and most of the other characters as well) are portrayed as being younger. Dan Castellaneta, using a slight variation on his Krusty the Clown voice, takes over the role. The crazy voice and iconic laugh fit Stretch's personality quite well.

Overall, my vote is going to Jim Ward. Scott would be in the second place, Joe in third and then Dan in fourth.

Bonus Opinion: Who would I cast as Stretch? I think that Maurice LaMarche would make a good choice. Imagine an evil Inspector Gadget, if you will.
