Vitalstatistix is the Chief of Asterix's village. He is known for giving bombastic, over-the-top speeches (which no one really pays attention to), and insists on being carried around by two bearers on a large shield (which originally belonged to Vercingetorix himself). However, while he is a reasonably capable leader, he is also somewhat absent-minded, bumbling, and generally dominated by his wife, the fiery Impedimenta.
