As confirmed by audio director Clark Wen,
for the Metroid Prime trilogy Nintendo recorded several different
actors for the role of Samus. Developer Retro Studios picked and chose
which actor's work they liked best to use in the game. While most of
Samus's voice in the game was provided by Jennifer Hale, Clark Wen has
stated that they chose to use the death scream recorded by an actress
with the initials "VM".
