Oh my gosh, it's Frank and Jon! I haven't heard Frank's voice in ages! ...He's got a perfect Welker!Megatron voice, btw.

Anyone else surprised that they got a couple of Youtubers to voice these Transformers? Heck one of them is a Let's Play channel that I watch quite regularly.

@Shaun Ince

I don't know if it was so much "youtubers" as much as it was "non-union actors" they wanted.

These VA are good.

@TAPUKOKO True that but here are 2 things that concern me:

1. I WAS really expecting this series to be based on the comics.

2. If Peter Cullen dies, it just wouldn't be the same.

Outside of a few characters like Megatron, Windblade, Rodimus, Devastator and maybe Optimus and Starscream to an extent the voice acting was rather bland, forgettable or the actors are just plain miscast in their roles. You can tell a few of them were rather inexperienced sounding, having never done voice work before.

The Mistress of Flame and Victorion sound way too young and light. I've always imagined them sounding waaaaay deeper and mature sounding.

I always wondered who voice directed this show? It's a shame someone like Chris Cason or even a veteran VA from the franchise like Kirk Thornton, Lex Lang or Tony Oliver didn't direct this, that actually could have helped the cast sound a lot better and improve.

The story itself was a complete mess and it just got ridiculous yet played itself way too straight. That Said Megatron at least steals the show by simply not giving a damn.

Considering how at the end they show "the Titans returning"...will they actually go through with making that or will they cancel it due to negative reception?

Jon Bailey is effortlessly enjoyable as Prime!

But aside from Seitz, do the voice actors all have Youtube channels? If so, this project seems a bit "Web fan bait-ish" to me.
I get that it's airing on the web, but Pokemon Generations was made for the web and it features professional voice actors.
Either way, looks like a good show. :)

@Torak I'd say it's more of an internet project rather than something related to Hollywood like with the Justice League Dark short series the year before.
said at 3:37 PM on Sun Oct 16 2016
@Troodon2 Ah, that makes sense. I can safely say this isn't a deliberate cash grab like that Avengers Academy game.

@Torak In the USA this was exclusive to Verizon's go90 app, so it seems like it was mostly made as a way to attract people to said app than anything else. That's likely why it was such a low-budget project.
said at 5:11 AM on Wed Oct 26 2016
@Torak Jason Marnocha is LordJazor on YouTube, he does a lot of surprisingly great fandubs of things.

Charlie Guzman is DashieXP on Youtube.

So yeah some of them are on YouTube.

It does have that feel, but I really chalk it up on either poor voice direction or casting.

@Autovolt "but I really chalk it up on either poor voice direction or casting."

Oh I agree with you there, thats not to say all web based voice actors can't be good, far from it. Jon Bailey has a great voice!

It just a little weird to me seeing a web based project added to this site when there isn't even a category for it (and for good reason).

Giving some newer talent a time to shine? Always welcome. Show itself is a bit rough around the edges though, but nothing awful IMO.

You know, after having heard Patrick Seitz as Devastator, and more recently as Tank-Top Master, I can finally and definitely see why some here on the site compare him to Fred Tatasciore.

Usually he's in the same range as say Nolan North, but when I heard those throaty-roar type laughs and shouts, I definitely did get a hulk-type vibe.

The heck? Cullen ISN'T Optimus this time?
said at 7:49 PM on Thu Oct 13 2016
@Ghosty404 Well, this was a pretty small production, & it's non-union as well so it's almost implausible that they'd get Peter Cullen on it.

I, personally, dig that aside from the smaller players getting a shot at these characters...they got Jon Bailey doing his lifelong dream of Optimus, in an *official* TF production. Pretty cool.

@huzaifa_ahmed I'd like to see a Transformers project recorded at Okatron 5000. It would be interesting to hear most of FUNination's voice talent as the Transformers themselves.
said at 2:31 AM on Sat May 13 2017
@Shaun Ince Going off my minimal TF knowledge...something like: David Wald as Ironhide, Austin Tindle as Hotshot, Christopher Sabat as Optimus Prime, David Matranga as Silverbolt, Chris Ayres as Starscream, Jason Douglas as Megatron...?

So far this is off a terrible start, sorry to say.

Honestly so far, only Abby Trott's performance as Windblade has my attention and even then I really dislike how they are approaching Windblade in this being an edgy, I gotta kill all the combiners.

Characters are getting wasted left and right, this is like Transformers: Prime but done far far worse. At least we got to know the characters....sort of better.
said at 7:06 PM on Fri Aug 5 2016
@Autovolt I kind'a expected this to fall flat right from the start. I don't mind a darker or more mature Transformers like in the IDW comics, but this was just degrading.
said at 5:46 AM on Tue Oct 11 2016
@Autovolt Yep. gonna have to agree with you on this Auto. As I said above, I'm glad their giving fresh faces a chance to shine, but the whole package is messy. Characters are offed left and right with no chance to develop. Also, for being 5 mins each, there sure is a bunch of padding.

While I don't mind having new talent in the spotlight, I'd still like to hear some recurring pre-lay talent just to mix up the roster and add diversity.

The cast sounds great. From all the videos I've seen so far, I really dig Windblade and Victorion's performers. I would love to hear more of them.

I also dig Dashie as Menasor.

It's great to see Non-Union Actors working on a cartoon show than just a anime show. :-)
said at 12:44 PM on Thu Jul 21 2016
@Jason-Senpai thisnis probably LA's first nonunion cartoon. I'm probably going to be that this is being done by Bang Zoom!
said at 12:54 PM on Thu Jul 21 2016
@Domayv Dunno if it's Bang Zoom!, as the How It Should've Ended animated shorts which were also non-union were recorded at a different studio. Although I wouldn't be surprised if BZ! is the studio recording this web series.

@Lord Vok I'd be down to clown with a series that has Starscream as the lead. I'm hoping they give him a brand new VA. :D
