This show is essentially a milestone celebration for the studio that produced it... yet on top of that, Trigger Cinematic Universe confirmed baby! You'll get the joke if you've seen the anime from beginning to end.

Speaking of, Space Patrol Luluco is a solid enough watch. Seeing that I'm a big fan of Imaishi's handiwork, this was something I *wanted* to power through, and I wasn't disappointed. Admittedly the storyline in itself is kinda bland, but the lovable cast of characters, densely-packed episodes (despite the episodes themselves being so short), and the personality leaking from the animation and directorial technqiues helped me overlook the otherwise derivative plot. Plus those OP and ED songs didn't hurt either; TeddyLoid even composed "Pipo Password", who more than a few people might know for his contributions to the Panty & Stocking OST.

The voice acting is great too... when checking SPL out subbed. Honestly I felt the FUNi dub was a letdown by comparison. Nothing awful, nothing great either. There were at least a handful of performances I actually dug (e.g. Monica Rial's Lalaco; Justin Briner's Nova; Brett Weaver as Keiji), although the rest range from simply passable to lacking (looking at you, Midori). Christopher Bevins *has* directed very nice dubs before if The Devil is a Part-Timer!, Samurai 7, and Nobunagun are any consolation, but he dropped the ball here. Not one of the company's best English dubs to summarize.

Still, putting a few issues I have with the English version aside, I recommend getting on Space Patrol Luluco ASAP. It's fun, cute, rich in detail, and it'll make you wanna FIGHT FOR JUSTICE!

I actually really like Jamie Marchi's Midori, but yeah, the dub isn't as hammy as it could've been. I think it's fine overall, though.

So Chris Sabat is Inferno Cop. If that's not picture-perfect casting, I don't know what is.

Bob Carter as Over Justice? Dope. It'd better be the hammiest performance of his career or it's a wasted opportunity.
