Spacenoid teenager Amuro Ray finds himself conscripted as a soldier--piloting the mobile suit Gundam under the command of Bright Noa on the Earth Federation ship White Base. Repeatedly in battle against Principality of Zeon ace pilot Char Aznable, Amuro demonstrates in his ability to pose a match to the legendary Red Comet a prowess as a mobile suit pilot that seems increasingly superhuman.

This 43 episode TV series was originally licensed and released on television in the United States by Bandai Entertainment and Bandai Namco Filmworks (then Sunrise, Inc.).
