Despite some issues I have with Brotherhood and how the characters and the story is written the dub cast were phenomenal in there roles such as Vic Mignogna, Troy Baker, Ed Blaylock, and Kent Williams

FMA:B is hands down the best dub Funimation has ever made. Now that the show's on Netflix and CR, thanks to AOA's recent acquisition of the show, hopefully they rerelease it on Blu-ray. I also hope AOA gets the rights to Guilty Crown.

Whew took a long time to finish this it's a looong trip alright(and I'm watching it dubbed yay.)

I've been wanting to watch this for years but somehow other shows took priority and I had huge hopes because I really like the PS2 titles(I'm aware the first game has an original story so I'll just count the second one)

So what do I think of it?

It's a great show I'm glad to finally go through this journey, the voice acting is great in either language(though I heard the Japanese ones in that movie) and it's got great character design. My favourite characters are Mustang, Riza and Ed, it's hard to get me to watch much modern shounen and be invested anymore.

However I did get slightly underwhelmed as well, maybe it's the hype in my mind or maybe it's my standard being set in stone by now, so far of the little I seen of 2003 I prefer the other series more, I think the first few episodes were too fast and started in media res I know it's because of the issue that the first anime covered those but once we get to that... half of the villains, I did not like them, I like the heroes(except for May) but the antagonists? Eh there's Lust who disappeared early and creepy creepy Shou... that's it really I didn't like any of the other villains.

Never though I'd say this, but God bless Aniplex for putting this (and FMA '03) back on Netflix!

One of the few series that both my older brother and I love to death (and he's quite picky about his shows)!

I'm honestly tempted to marathon through it all over again!

I watched all of Brotherhood in 10 days and it was worth staying up in weekends just to watch a couple episodes! When I first watched it I thought I wouldn't like it because it was 64 episodes but now that I finished it I already miss everyone in it. The openings were phenomenal, that they sent chills down my spine when I listened to them! I was excited to see Todd voice Ling which was one of the reasons I watched it since I really enjoy his voice acting! This is one of my top 5 animes in my list and nothing can replace this masterpiece!

FUNimation's best dub, hands down. And that's saying a lot, 90% of their dubs are great, including the dub of the 2003 FMA series, which one could argue is their second best dub. I'd also put DBZ Kai and Hellsing Ultimate near the top. But this, this is the pinnacle of anime voice acting, yet to be surpassed.

@BlueScarabGuy Amen. Shame FUNimation won't renew the license for Brotherhood (probably cuz way too expensive but a shame still). If you want this show on DVD/Bluray you better buy it before Aniplex jacks up the price!

@FUNiman It's not that FUNimation won't; it's that Aniplex won't let them... Because they want to sell it at the price you could get an ingrown toenail removed...

@BlueScarabGuy IMO this dub is *pretty* good, but I do think that most people who don't go out of their way to research dubs & instead watch airing stuff, either pirated or on CrunchyRoll...tend to overlook dubs that AREN'T this show (& Bebop & a few others)

Basically, I'm saying that, as great as this dub is...it's pretty overrated, especially with outstanding dubs like Tiger & Bunny, Naruto, Tekkonkinkreet, Karas, Golgo 13: Queen Bee, & quite a few others of IMO superior quality, being VASTLY ignored.

@huzaifa_ahmed You're absolutely right. As an avid dub watcher, it's quite a shame that so many GREAT dubs are overlooked just because their not Full Metal Alchemist.

The theme song is opening 4? Good, but I would've said 2.

While I haven't watched that much of this version yet (As of this post, 7 episodes in), I still enjoy it. One thing that's really bugging me so far with the early episodes is the pacing. I can understand their reasons for doing this, but certain things aren't given as much focus as they did in the 2003 one. For example, when do they learn of the key ingredient to making the philosopher's stone in the 2003 anime? Episode 19. When they learn of it in this version? EPISODE 7!!!!!! Then again, that's probably how it played out in the original manga. I have yet to read it, but I'm still looking forward to more (I admit, I'm a bit more partial to the 2003 one at the moment). However, one problem I learned is that Netflix stopped streaming it at episode 52. So unless they fix it, I'm going to have to look elsewhere to finish it.

This is one of those animes that I actually like the dub more than the sub :D

I wonder why almost all the Japanese cast didn't reprise their roles.
