If I had to pick my favorite anime of 2015, it would probably be this one. When I saw the trailers and clips, I thought it would be some generic survival horror anime. Oh, God was I wrong. This is one of the most powerful, philosophical masterpieces I have ever seen. And props to the entire voice cast, especially Alex Orrgan, Monica Rial, Eric Vale and Josh Grelle.

Alex Organ was great. Nice big follow-up role to his work on Psycho-Pass. IMO though Jamie Marchi was easily the best performer of this dub; wouldn't be surprised if she wins Best Lead TV Actress

Zach Bolton is hit or miss as an ADR Director but Death Parade was surprisingly one of his best dubs to date and amongst all the FUNi broadcast dubs of 2015 was one of the most well done.

Hope Death Billiards gets included on the English Blu-ray/DVD release and dubbed too (but in an era of reverse importations fears some Japanese companies will refuse to hand over extras to make a less expensive collection less appealing for hardcore otaku)

@lazydude500 I never really understood what these 'hardcore otaku" find appealing about high prices. Aren't low prices a good thing?

Sorry I didn't explain myself well. I meant to say that regardless of how cheap something may be if it's lacking extra content fans want (e.g. omakes, extra OVA episodes, director's cut footage) those fans feel like they're getting an incomplete product.

As for high prices there are some pros/cons to them. I've noticed that higher costing sets usally have more discs. There is a limit to how much data a disc can hold before there begins to be a noticeable dip in picture & sound quality. 3-4 episodes was once the standard for the singles era in North America (still is in Japan). Now you have 6-9 episodes on a disc. Anything more than 7 episodes isn't that good. For example some of Viz's re-releases of the original Pokemon episodes have 12 episodes on a single disc! Fans are basically getting WORSE quality than when it originally aired on TV...

But some companies would rather print less overall discs to save money but if it's going to cost them sales they're actually only hurting themselves.

That being said some expensive sets are a complete rip-off (e.g. Aniplex USA); who honestly cares about limited edition postcards? lol

I almost choked up a few times while watching this show. It's so sad sometimes, but that opening, I can't stop dancing!

So that rules out Josh as Shimada.
So my two left votes are Todd or Micah as Shimada. I'm Stoked now ^_^

@LukasLot Hmm.....Somehow I had forgotten that micah was already cast....

Who they choose for shimada has now excalated my interests 100FOLD!!!!!

@LukasLot I think Clifford Chapin would do well in the role.

@VocalChameleon Clifford Chapin would've done a great job. I TOTALLY called Todd for Shimada though. I was kind of HOPING I was wrong because I know Todd's "Emotional/Screaming Intense" scenes, and it can get annoying sometimes.

I never would've pegged Jeremy Schwartz as Oculus, but now I'm curious to see how he'll do in the role. At least in these early episodes, it's a change of pace from what I've normally heard from him.

The rest of the cast is pretty good, as well; I'm not hearing any voice that's "traditional" or easily recognizable, which I like.

Wow they jumped to the dub FAST.

I'm thrilled with this anime, and hope that the rest of the characters cast are as well chosen as the ones already shown!

I totally called it that Jad Saxton would be Nona. This is perfect casting.

Alex Organ as Decim? it's an interesting casting choice to say the least.

@Autovolt Robert McCollum is Ginti...YES JUST YES! I just knew he was going to be cast. I got two of the castings does it feel good.

Jeremy Schwartz as Occulus....That's a really out of left field casting choice. I'm sure that will work very well.
