Really getting to watch this and I love it for it's really creative and weird tone with the really energetic voice acting, the background can get a little much though

Kids, there's nothing more cool than being hugged by someone you like. But if someone tries to touch you in a place or in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, THAT'S NO GOOD. It's your body! Nobody has the right to touch you if you don't want them to. So what do you do? First, you say no! Then you get outta there! Most important, you gotta tell someone you trust, like your parents, your teacher, a police officer.

Sadly, this series is something else. Unlike SONIC SatAM, which mixed intelligent, well-written plots with great character development, THE ADVENTURES OF SONIC THE HEDGEHOG places the title hero and his fox buddy Tails in slapstick comedy adventures. The animation is crude and lacking the detail of the first series, and the stories are not only predictable, but often idiotic. The villainous Dr Robotnik loses the menacing, frightening aspects of his personality in the previous series and becomes a louder, comical badguy who screams "I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG" for just about EVERY episode. Further accentuating this drawback are the two annoying robot sidekicks invented for this show, the dimwitted Grounder and obnoxious Scratch; their antics are amusing at times, but they are also quite a nuisance; their foul-ups get old pretty fast. There are still some entertaining and amusing bits, but all in all, this series pales compared to its predecessor. This is more like Saturday morning junkfood with very little substance, pretty much on par with THE SUPER MARIO BROS. SUPER SHOW (which in all fairness, did a better job of translating the material than the disastrous movie, but suffered, just like this show, from formulaic, predictable plots and an overdose of slapstick). If you like this kind of stuff, then you'll probably like this; otherwise I suggest speeding to Sonic SatAM instead.

@JTurner Technically, THIS is the first Sonic cartoon. But both aired around the same time, so neither one's really a predecessor to the other.

Boy, this show is so awesome. The whole comedy and off-the-wall antics always manage to crack me up. Sonic disguising as people and fooling the villains reminds me a lot of Eddie Murphy's Axel Foley, which is awesome. Also, Robotnik, Scratch and Grounder are really great fun villains.

This is my favorite Sonic cartoon, not only was it my first, but it has Looney Tunes esque antics, and is more unique than any other show or any installment in the franchise for that matter, except the original games.

Looking at this show for the first time, the only way I can describe properly is like this: take the animation style of a 60s cartoon, the voice acting/casting of an 80s show, the energy of a Dreamworks film times a thousand, and the sheer surreality of Pink Floyd's The Wall (minus the symbolism), and you have this piece of work.

I can't say that it is a terrible show, but... I can't bring myself to say that it is that great, either. It's just.... insane! O_O
