NEWS - Super Bomberman R Gets Ratchet and Master Chief VAs
Reported by NCZ on Thu Jun 7 2018

Super Bomberman R was confirmed to be ported to PS4, Xbox One, and PC back in March, but just today Konami announced something that will sweeten the deal.

In addition to featuring a pair of special guests exclusive to each console, Ratchet & Clank on PS4 and Halo's Master Chief on Xbox One, Konami have confirmed that they will respectively be voiced by their original actors: James Arnold Taylor & David Kaye, and Steve Downes. The PC version features the P-body from Portal, who is unvoiced.

Super Bomberman R has had a ton of special Konami characters added since launch, including Castlevania's Dracula and Simon Belmont, Gradius's Vic Viper, Silent Hill's Pyramid Head, and even Rumble Roses' Reiko, and all of them will be available from the start in the game's new port.

Check out the new trailers below, showing off how the special guests play in each version. Super Bomberman R has been out on Switch since the system's launch last March, and PS4, XB1, and PC players get a taste a few days from now, on June 12.

 2 Shout Outs!

Arnold, Kaye and Downes with the Japan-English talent for the first time.

Tell me about it. I thought for sure that they were gonna get some voice matches from the Japan-based English cast, or even just reused audio from previous games. Turns out I was wrong and I'm super glad for that!

This is kinda reminding me of Let It Die, which also mixed in a bunch of unionized LA VA's with Japan-based English VA's, as well. A pretty interesting and diverse mix, if you ask me!

@MasterBlaster Dang right on that. I'm interested to see how the other Konami characters they have fare if they're getting LA voices or voice matches from the Japan-English talent or just Japanese voice.

If you're talking about the Castlevania characters and the like that's mentioned in this article, they've already been voiced in the original Switch version of the game by the Japan-English talent pool, as well.

Unfortunately, they don't directly credit who voices who when it comes to the additional Bombers. They're all under a block of names--everyone's FAVORITE crediting style. XD

@MasterBlaster Lets not forget Bloodstained. Which features David Hayter, Kari Wahlgren, Fred Tatasciore, Ray Chase, Erica Lindbeck, and Castlevania's Robert Belgrade.
