Nickelodeon is having something of a renaissance for many of its 1990s shows, live-action and animated. With Hey Arnold receiving a TV movie this year to wrap up its unconcluded plot points, Rocko's Modern Life is next in line.
Titled Static Cling, much of the show's crew - and yes, its cast - will be returning. Carlos Alazraqui, Tom Kenny, "Mr." Doug Lawrence, Charlie Adler, Jill Talley, and Linda Wallem will all be reprising the roles they made their own in the original show, with series creator Joe Murray serving as writer and executive producer.
The plotline will, naturally, tackle modern life - just late 2010s life, rather than mid 90s life. Rocko will return from space to discover the whole planet, including friends Heffer and Filburt, addicted to smartphones and social media.
Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling will premiere on Nickelodeon in 2018.
