Kyoto Animation Lit on Fire, Sentai Launches GoFundMeReported by NCZ on Thursday, July 18th 2019
Early in the morning of July 18th (Japan time), a terrorist broke into animation house Kyoto Animation and lit the building ablaze using buckets of gasoline. Of the nearly 70 staff present that day, 33 are reported dead in one of Japan's worst mass murders since the end of World War II.
Kyoto Animation is known as one of the most creative and worker-forward houses in Japan. They are responsible for such modern classics as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Violet Evergarden, Free, Clannad, and Sound Euphonium. The attacker has been apprehended, but the impact of his attack has been grave.
Houston-based anime studio Sentai Filmworks have launched a Gofundme to help aid the recovery of KyoAni. You may donate at the link below.
