Keith David Would Come Back To Voice Goliath From GargoylesReported on Tuesday, September 10th 2019
Keith David has had a very successful and balanced career both on-screen and behind the microphone. Ahead of Disney's Gargoyles 25th Anniversary, Comic Book talked to Keith David about his lead role of Goliath - one which he ranks highly as one of his most favorite acting roles ever.
"You know, he was absolutely one of my very, very, very, very favorite characters. I've always maintained that when I grow up, I want to be like Goliath."
While the series had a healthy run of 78 episodes from 1994 - 1997, David did wonder why it ended.
"You know, those of us who were involved from the beginning... I've always wondered why they stopped it in the first place."
When asked if he would ever return to the role in the event of a reboot or continuation, David did not hesitate.
"[We've wondered] why we haven't come back to a reboot. I mean, I would love nothing more than to revisit Goliath."
Although there were reports last year that comedian/director Jordan Peele was interested in developing a live-action Gargoyles movie, there has been no official news from Disney.
However with Disney+ paving the way for many less financially risky shows and movies to come to life, the new streaming service may be the Gargoyles' best bet to awake from their stone form and back to warriors by night.
