Fruits Basket Gets New Adaptation
Reported on Monday, November 19th 2018
The classic shojo series, Fruits Basket, is receiving a new TV adaptation.
Fruits Basket began as a manga in 1998, and ran until 2006. In 2001, it was adapted into a 26-episode anime, so obviously the full story of the manga didn't make it to the screen. That will change next year, with a new adaptation produced by TMS. Funimation have the English rights to the series, and will be streaming it on Funimation NOW. The series will be executive-produced by the manga's original author, Natsuki Takaya.
The first cast members have been revealed for the new series.
- Tohru Honda: Manaka Iwami
- Yuki Sohma: Nobunaga Shimazaki
- Kyo Sohma: Yuuma Uchida
- Shigure Sohma: Yuichi Nakamura
Fruits Basket will premiere on TV Tokyo in 2019.
