After years of teases and speculation, and a full decade since the release of the last game in the series, Capcom have announced Devil May Cry 5.
Though the game's art style, Nero's familiar appearance, and Microsoft's previous announcement of having bought Ninja Theory were not good for my heart, this game is indeed developed by Capcom proper and directed by Hideaki Itsuno, the man behind Devil May Cry 3 and 4.
DMC4's Nero returns as the game's main character, with Johnny Yong Bosch lending full voice and motion capture. Having lost his Demon Bringer arm, Nero teams up with a mechanic friend named Nico to develop prosthetic arms that lend him an awesome array of never-before-seen abilities.
And of course, Dante himself appears very quickly at the end, looking much more.... homely than usual. However, Reuben Langdon is in tow, and all is as it should be.
Devil May Cry 5 will be out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in Spring 2019.
