Description:
Hello, I am the author of the YA Fantasy novel Mirror Walker. I am making a book trailer and I would love to get some talented voice actors on board to make this trailer amazing.

This isn't paid work, but it should be fun and fairly simple as there aren't very many lines. Though the few lines that there are will require a lot of passion and some decent acting chops, as they are pretty dramatic.

If you want to pick up a copy of the book on Amazon to understand the characters better, that would be awesome, but it isn't required. I do however want you to have decent recording equipment so that we can make the quality as professional as possible. I do have another trailer for this book currently posted on Youtube if you want to check it out, but it doesn't have any voice-over work in it. (Just search Mirror Walker book trailer and it should come right up)

I will be posting the video on my Youtube channel, and I will be presenting it to kids at several schools around where I live and beyond. I will of course give you full credit for your work in the video details, and I will provide links to your own webpage as well.

I imagine Grandpa Morey's voice to sound like a cross between Sean Connery, and the bookstore owner on The Never Ending Story. He is described as having a faded Scottish Accent, but this isn't required to portray for the trailer, but hey, if you can, go for it! He is also kind of over-the-top and eccentric. Very charismatic and likable.

Motivation:

Line 1: deliver tenderly, hesitantly and in almost a whisper.

Line 2: to be delivered as a character with a flair for the dramatic, and with intensity.

Line 3: don't be afraid to speak slowly and pause for dramatic effect. Voice at low volume, but not a whisper.

Felicity is 14 and is Connor's best friend. She is a deep, intelligent and passionate character.

Motivation:

Line 1: She is extremely worried about him because he has been shutting her out and has been putting himself in danger.

Line 2: She is emotional at this point, Angry, sad, desperate. She usually avoids confrontation, but she has to get through to her friend.

Line 3: she has just been reminiscing about how amazing things used to be with her family, but she can't recall these things without realizing how terrible it is now. It makes her extremely hurt, and sad.

  FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
• Why does my MP3 not upload?
We understand that some users are getting errors when uploading MP3 files. Certain encodings will not be compatible with the upload code. Originally Audacity saved MP3s worked at the time Casting Call was written. However the software may have changed the way it saves MP3s. At an unknown future time, the process will change where auditions will be recorded and saved directly on the site. In the meantime, please ask fellow members who have success with MP3 uploads how they are saving/encoding their files. Thanks and apologies for the inconvenience.
• Why is there a limit to 4 active projects per member?
While a project owner is welcome to have as many active projects running as they wish outside BTVA, the limit is imposed because having too many active projects can be somewhat "unrealistic". We want those who are auditioning to feel that each project is getting the attention and quality it deserves given auditioners themselves are putting in their own time and effort. Once a project owner flags a project as "Completed", they are welcome to create a new project.
• Can I audition more than once for a character?
The system is built to allow ONE audition per character. This is to avoid having a number of auditions from the same member and making the project owner have to listen to all of them. For now, if you or the project owner wishes you to submit another audition, the project owner will need to "Delete" your audition. The project owner can do this in the "Edit Character/Manage Auditions" link.
• How do I flag a character as being Cast?
As a project owner you will see a "Edit Character/Manage Auditions" link for each character. Clicking it will allow you to Cast, Backup or Pass an audition. Casting a character will prevent new auditions from being submitted for that character.
• Why do I need a valid email address?
If you audition for a project and are cast in a role, you will notified by email.
• How do I contact members cast for a project?
You can contact members using Private Messaging feature available here in the forums.
