Patrick's actually one of the better voices in the dub for the new anime with Joseph(both ages) but I'm going with Andrew who is a lot like my favourite voice for this character... Isshin Chiba and for being superior to the original Japanese OVA voice too. go to »
SpoilerX100- I still don't care for the new dub even without the forced accents.
Matthew isn't as awkward as say Bryce's Caesar but I don't feel anything listening to him, I don't think it's cold enough or even memorable in a ridiculous way like Bryce's Caesar, it's just there. Abie's work seems to give more of a loner vibe. go to »
Or the ones voicing the kid versions I actually prefer Eliza the most she's cute without being as squeaky as the other two though I think Eden voice is still the best and I think she would make a pretty good young version if she had the chance. go to »
Nick Apostolides is just eh... it's the same feeling I have with Matthew Mercer and Christian Lanz, Matthew is better than the other two but I thought it was kinda boring and Christian is way too scratchy, I would put Nick in between only a bit above Christian go to »
Honestly while I thought Dan in that prototype opening was the better narrator, I'm glad we got Eric replaced with FB Owens, he got the same problem I got with Sean and Brian where they just sound like some middle aged pirate and don't have that impressive vibe FB Owens got. go to »
He might have a bad start on trainwreck badfanfic crossover the series(although his work was probably the best sounding thing in it since he was an original character) but he had a lot of great role since like Bankotsu, Ed and dare I love his Kira Yamato. go to »
Emily's take is wonderful with a very caring voice, even in the rough age of Pokemon USA she was one of their better spots but I actually really like Tara Jayne/Sands as well she sounds strong too but Emily just had more to show her softer side. go to »
Hmm between the two educational games which would I rather take? Rob Wallace voice had potential but the way he talks isn't very natural and stunted while Bruce can act way better but I don't really like his voice. go to »
Yeah I remembered one of the Runaway Guys mocking Maxie's voice in one of his Pokemon videos and it's what I expected. Why just why does he sound like some Mandark low rent version? Marc's a great choice but this is one of his weakest output ever.
Lex Lang like Jamieson Price is perfect for his character and actually sounds like a cold genius. go to »
I think I already said this a few times but a lot of these Advanced 4Kids voices sound so stupid more like some over the top comedy show compared to the earlier seasons more down to earth if a little goofy voices.
This is no exception, Sean sounds really fake for this, he had way better work for 4Kids even Pokemon. Jamieson actually sounds like he's being the character go to »
Billy sounds like some mix of the previous two voice actors plus Gary Oak in the blender, it's a pretty bad mix of both of their less flattering aspect, I can imagine once I get the game I will choose the female trainer instead.
Welp Michele you got promoted... I dunno I think she had some potential as she does sound distinct but she needed to tone down the rasp. go to »
Brandy does sound cute for her version, I think I would put her third though, I really think that Patricia could get better if she had better direction and given the chance one day, what is here shows potential. go to »
He was by far my favourite old school voice actor with his deep voice that could go from hilariously cackling villains to the ditzy Tigger plus his ventriloquism and inventions is an impressive feat to do. go to »
@Nightmare Crusher I rather trust my own instinct and just give a shot based on the actual merit when I have barely any knowledge of these Zelda CDI meme but even with that Mark Berry was alright on it's own. go to »
@PsychicVoiceSpy Not too hard to beat that voice of Gon, the old one was just awkward.
Welp you finally agreed a little bit about Cheryl... But yeah Erika was my least favourite of the four at this point but Leorio was the only really good one at the moment but then he was one of the better ones even in the Blue Water dub. go to »
Pierre was alright for this character but to be honest, I thought most of these are only alright, the only one that really hits me in the head is Walter Caroll/the one initially listed as Barry Gjerde go to »
I had both the Sony ports so I will judge solely on their versions rather than Nintendo.
I do know that the super Famicom one is far more restraining than even the original version of the first Destiny so it is good of them to do something about it other than just port it over even if it took Eternia to really smooth it over and not need accessories to get manual and 2P.
Of the two Sony ports I prefer the PSP port for one reason: full voice acting on the field!
As for the one port that made it overseas... that dub was... passable, it's not great, it's the worst dub in the whole series but they did alright that I won't shut off my volume control the only thing was most of the male except for Chester aren't very fitting and the girls sound rather similar to one another. go to »
While I think it's nice that there's a conclusion for a shoujo manga but what an odd timing to make an anime for the rest of the manga after over a decade it ended and it will be all the rather adultish stuff happening that the first anime never made it to.
My feeling is mixed about that part of the manga, I do think it's more daring than what is here nowadays but it seems a bit odd when compared to the beginnings and the original anime but I guess i'll take a look once it airs. go to »
Both of them are higher than I would like but I can at least imagine how Kath version can translate to FF9 and she even sounds like Christine Cauvanaugh's Chuckie Finster(or her Bunnie...), Melissa's take sounds too helpless. go to »
I won't be getting the new trilogies since I got the impression I will always prefer it on PS1 but hoorah Tom Kenny's back for their version of the first game too over so bad it's hilarious Carlos go to »
It's probably mainly the two years gap but I thought David was much more comfortable in Heroes while in Adventures 2 he could get a little over the top(especially the fake hedgehog line) although in that game there was a nice quality that he really improved over time.
While Jason took until the games to sound like what I thought was a modern Sonic voice I thought he was much more consistently good as Shadow and got even better for the games.
Kirk wasn't the worst even in Free Riders(that would be Wave and Amy...) but I didn't think it was good either, sound almost like he's about to lose his temper and fits his Kingdom Hearts role way better than this character but he's slowly getting better after the PS3 era and is now a passable LA counterpart. go to »
While I thought Sean Astin does capture the hot blooded New Yorker version best(although he was more toned down than most of the other versions) Omar has one of the better more aggressive voices, at least I liked it more than the movie Trio and Greg Abbey anyway go to »
The Pokemon eyes look so freaky, it's like every other modern shounen protagonist level of overly glassy and marbly.
Jigglypuff looks a bit odd, it's not quite Pokemon Stadium and early Smash bros overly near set eyes but still... I still kinda wish it would have some role though, it's my favourite Pokemon ever. go to »
I thought Lani had a good performance for the character for the most part and her pitch is more tolerable than Maria's in the first game but the accent is stereotypical cockney and while he is trying to be like Layton is too mature personality wise since he is pretty much like an actual child most of the time.
Maria was too cutesy in the first game but she got more tolerable later on and her performance is much sweeter and more kiddie go to »
I think Scott Keck still has the best voice but Ed Cunningham has one of the better work in 3, Ray is one of the better replacements so far but I like the older quality the other two had given out. go to »
Kirk is great at Nightmare would be fine in his Siegfried form... if he voiced the character the same age as Roger's but I would rate him second, Eric's okay but kinda generic and Crispin's performance is really silly. go to »
Looking at the last few years has been massive from his okayish Tuxedo Mask even if his Crystal role is actually fairly good(and that weird cartoon role I never even heard of) and being rather type casted as all these goodie goodie heroes with similar voices and now all that Warioware and Kazuma Kiryu sounding Ken in Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise. go to »
Charles actually sounds a lot better in 3 than in 5 to me and is one of the better performances in 3 but this character has one of the better voices anyway but I do think Paul is more classy sounding of the two. go to »
Happy late birthday Scott one of the bossest voice actor around to voice almost any kind of male characters in all the 90s anime and cartoons I seen, he also gave some of the better perfomance in the Darkstalkers cartoon(and got to be in the anime) go to »
Why have I not even said anything about Robbie Daymond. I would actually put him second after Greg Cipes. But out of everyone I'd say those two, Mikey Kelley and Townsend Coleman are my favourites. go to »
Mark's version is so echoey I can barely focus on the voice and when I did... it's nothing worth talking about, Scott's work is much more fun to listen to in both a clearer voice and this hammy voice, he almost sounds like one of his Jetlag work as well. go to »
Wow how did THIS show up on the top 10 this week, I don't have this version but I did have the PS2 Special version and the Wii version, of the two I prefer Special just for being able to save midway in multiplayer, they were good games though generally RNG but it has some strategy needed too compared to most other board games. go to »
Eh I'm gonna be honest I thought the LA works were a bit weaker than the Gamecube/Wii era for this series(or most Nintendo IP really) yeah the Seattles quality tend to swing all over the place but I thought their voice work were more distinct.
I prefer Jason Adkins more for 15 years old Ike but even here I thought it was cooler to listen to of the two, Greg was a bit too husky sounding. go to »
I like this season a lot it's more consistent than the last one(Aflheim was a bit messy), I know this is a very wish fulfillmensy series and it's a bit fanservicey and Kirito is just okay. but I do like that it does have nice sweet casual moments and it does have moments I do think is good that not a lot of series actually does and that scenery it is incredible both the rendering and it's originality. go to »
I pick Scott's voice, I feels like it has more character, Brotherhood may be an epic adventure journey but it's character writing feels... just adequate not super fleshed out y'know and it shows in the more standard voice acting for this character in particular. go to »
@HienFan Sean seems alright, not much to say here, I have no access to Toonami.
Skip seem to range between sounding like every other role he has(especially his two Dynasty Warriors characters and Masamune Date) to a little lower and better, it's one of that game's better voices but it's not the best voice for this character.
Doug sorta sound like most of the other voice actors but his acting is pretty iffy. go to »
Out of everyone I would actually pick Alistair, his voice actually sorta reminds me of Ryu from Street Fighter and it's deeper and more mature than the others and he did get better after this clip(although that clip is very good)
Eric is good at first, then he gave this silly really raspy voice, I know he's Vegeta's son but it sounds more like they traded cigars somewhere during the GT dub(which was where both of them sound really raspy before Chris dropped it after that). Most characters in the Funimation dub sound less raspy later on but in this case it seem like the other way around.
Matthew was fine better than GT!Eric but this clip is not the best. go to »
I thought this was one of the few deconstruction that actually feels like an actual deconstruction/taking down things in a more realistic like not some make it more miserable.
This is also a very funny show with some really ridiculous expressions, I'm glad it's getting a movie, it's not by Studio Deen sadly but JC Staff has a lot of experience with this kind of humour so I have hopes for it. go to »
Nice to see that the PS3 content will be translated for all future system including it's home system the Microsoft(XBOXone, for being pretty much being THE JRPG on the 360 it was kind of them to put it for it's sucessor too) including getting good ole Baker for his no.1 role ever
Speaking of which this game was what made me bought the 360(though the easier to excess factor compared to the PS3 at the time was also a factor) I still think this has the best looking 3D in the Tales series with the very anime looking cel shading, Symphonia also has it but I dunno most 6th gen cel shaded 3D just look err... weird go to »
@HienFan Looked up Extreme Ghostbusters, while I didn't hate Dave's work in Real Ghostbusters and as I said he did sound more like Bill than Lorenzo ever did, it's also not the best, it's too slow witted sounding without much of anything else.
But he does turn in a decent imitation in Extreme even if that one seems particularly weird and hip go to »
I dunno how I feel about THIS getting a redub(instead of dubbing the last two shows before Seeds), I already seen the Ocean dub so I won't watch the new dub.
For the actual show yeah I did like this one, it got a lot of character development, yeah I know Gundam is famous for it's melodrama but that's what I like about it, this show has a particularly strong development of the ones I seen though.
For the Ocean dub, it was really good like a lot of their dubs to me, well mostly both Flay and Lacus have really squeaky voices, though Lacus singing voice is beautiful, Jillian Michaels is a great singer. go to »
Steven Weber is my favourite he sounds high class without being too snobby and that was a good way to not make him too obvious a character.
Second is actually Josh Keaton, if there's an unpopular opinion I have is... that I find a lot of his other Marvel role is better than Spidey(I thought he sounded kinda generic), he has a similar tone as Steven just a bit deeper.
Alan Rachins is third although like most of the series voices it's a bit obvious.
Neil Ross(?) is fourth he got a nice voice although he is very hammy.
Not much thoughts on Neil Kaplan and Willem Dafoe sadly... go to »
@HylianBelmont I really should have checked my comment thing more often but fine with me, not saying everyone should think she is super awesome but you know...
Althought it was sorta a rare case in some of these comment to have her over Kayzie lately, Kayzie was sorta average I think though that short was done more poorly then her MacDonald ads from the trailer I heard go to »
Veeeeery easy game(it's sequel at least had some challenge sometimes)
Though it's so cuuuute looking with great songs(and one of the only voice work with Keith Arem) and it did started off the short cutesy Marl Kingdom series go to »
A bit hit and miss dub but I do really dig playing it on the big screen on my favourite system ever(while Innocent Sin's translation was on the PSP...). It does have Minella with all the LA cast though...(even if her Lisa sounds silly) go to »
Looking through 4 again... I think I have a slightly mixed bag thought on Cynthia's work, in 3 I do think her voice is pretty good but her acting is really awkward and stiff, 4 fixed the acting but her voice this time is higher than in 3.
Desiree's pretty good I will say she sounds like the Japanese voice actress who had a pretty cool voice on her on and her acting is better rounded. go to »
Looking back this was a very enjoyable movie and the 4Kids gang are still having a time of their life(well at least the more notable ones most of the minor ones range from okay to why was this a good idea?)
Although a weakness was... they tried to contrast the two series waaaay too much, the 80s turtles were a bit too much like one another(including Leo of all characters) and the designs of the 2003 cast are the worst of both later seasons put together, either stick with the earlier seasons or all Back to the sewers, not fast forward Turtles with Back to the sewers human. go to »
These French voice actors have their moments(Code Lyoko comes in mind) but these Gadget characters sound even more meh than their Big Green dub and even that has it's HILARIOUS moment, Sharon Mann's performance is no exception.
With that in mind however my least favourite is Mona, I don't think her performance is very natural here.
Didn't care for Robyn's work either, it's standard ad performance.
Christina Batman is too cutesy, I know it's her age in most of the series but...
Erica and Cree were good and work well enough.
Tegan was also good though she sounds more like the age the character usually is.
On the other hand Tara is a great older version and one of the best work that series had.
I thought Holly is the best and most natural sounding however. go to »
I think it's time for me to expand my thoughts on what I think of this character voices like I did with the other major characters instead of just a list.
Trevor White is how I think he should sound like, he has that earnest idealistic tone the character should have without going overboard, he is easily the best performance of the Phoenix Wright cast in that game.(and I think if Luke Triton will to grow up that would be pretty good for him too)
Second is again Eric Vale, he's sorta like Sam Riegel's work with some of the goofiness dialed down.
Sam's good for what he has though but the loud goofy tone was sorta overplayed.
Ben Judd's okay for what he has, not much to say about his voice though. go to »
@HienFan After finishing AM and being halfway through the other two, I think I'm gonna restructure it a little, Jim can have that gruff performance when he gets angry, I still don't think he's Eggman.
The clip in Garry Chalk's clip is way too good, in the actual show I found most of the time his voice is overly serious too, he is much much better as Grounder.
I think I would put Long John much higher though, he is just a natural fit with his blustery hammy voice and hamfisted lines. go to »
1 Kath Soucie- I just like this take a lot, it's distinct with a more childish take
2 Joan Gardner- My favourite female
3 Paul Frees- He got a good old man voice
4 Diana Quick- She has a very cold voice fitting for a ghost
5 Jim Carrey- He did well I guess
6 Jessica Fox- There's that ghost quality but the voice is too high pitch for me
7 John Llewellyn- Boring loud old man voice go to »
@HienFan Been looking through Heroes, again it seems like Bill was very good in the cutscene(certainly what David Wills inspired his voice from) but a lot of his ingame lines sounds almost like an old man go to »
Ted's alright, second place, Mark is still the man, Mike Donovan is good but a better fit for Zero, Ruth acting is good but that voice for that version? No thanks though Peter sounds far too whiny go to »
Just finished it, it's a pretty good modernization(and it actually could get its darker theme it wanted), the CGI is pretty good, same with the character design compared to the later stuff like the crossover
As for the dub it is really good especially Jason Griffith and Michael Sorich, most New York dub are of exceptional quality outside of 4Kids I think and it really shows with Jason go to »
I won't be getting this because I won't be getting a PS1 but it's very nice to see Arika make another fighting game after a very long time though I did like their casual stuff as well, the aesthestic is awesome as the old EX days go to »
I have slightly mixed feelings for this one starting it much later than 1, there's the factor I loved 1's dub so the loss of that I didn't like though the Japanese voice acting is mostly good especially Rie's Haruka, sooo much better than Debi's really babyish take
The gameplay and side quest is definitely for the better much smoother for the former and funnier for the latter and it's nice to visit Kansai
But there's still stuff I like 1 better, the dub issue as I said plus the story is much much better in 1(though it might be because I just like the Kiryu focused story, Sayama was alright but her story I wasn't super invested until at the very end)
Overall 2 is still very solid but I think I like 1 better of the PS2 duo go to »
Favourite Jojo character not because he is ultra badass but because of his smarts
Most of his voice are good, I think I prefer Doug Boyd and Daisuke Hirakawa the most though Hiroataki was also one of the better voices in the Japanese version of the OVA, Kyle is actually my least favourite, he sounds too light and a bit generic go to »
I prefer the later anime series though the art and dub in here is way better(plus it's less of 'The Polnareff show' the egypt arc suffered from)
I have mixed feelings for this, I don't dislike it but well... first the goods were most of what I stated plus Avdol was less out of focused like the manga and tv series and the benefit of 30 minutes per episodes due to the OVA format so the chapters that were adaptated had plenty of time to develop, the colours are really good too way better than the second OVA and the TV series
But for the negative other than Polnareff this whole thing is way too serious for something like Jojo, seriousness can be a good thing(koff Ape Escape) but here it's overplayed to the point it feels a bit bland plus being the Egypt arc almost no Kakyoin boo... he was a standout character
I find it interesting this of the two OVA was dubbed second go to »
@HienFan Finished it yesterday, my words stay, though I will note that the characters(mainly with Sonic) tend to argue in amounts I can barely tolerate especially Sonic and Sally, it seems pretty popular in Shounen though? I think it has something to do with boyish banter but I find it tended to be overfocused in a lot of the popular ones
Ending seem semi conclusive of the arc other than the hook with what's his name again that I can never remember despite Eggman screaming at him every single episode, oh it's Snively
A positive is the art is okay compared to the really psychedelic look of Adventure with decent voice acting go to »
My feeling for his work in Sonic(well just Sonic himself first) is a little mixed depending on which cartoon we're talking about.
I did like his work for the fan film, he transitioned well for the modern design.
For the three old cartoons, I like his work for Adventure and Underground, the cheery take fit those versions mood.
But for Saturday AM... eh... it got this more overly snarky take which I really don't like, in fact I'd say Martin Burke was a bit better when comparing to that go to »
@PsychicVoiceSpy Didn't know you saw Brotherhood but yeah I agree with everything especially the thing about Ed
He wasn't bad or annoying in Brotherhood but I also think he had some of the more persistent shounen traits like being weirdly non-challant(or at least recovered from most of his incident rather quickly particular Nina) and hot headed at the same time, I know the infamy of the kind of thing this Ed have but it's what gives him a real depth not often seen in protagonist in particular
I think this is where I would say is Ed is actually the best character in his own series go to »
After watching most of this show, I'm gonna say this, I only think it's average at best, it got the adventurous plot that's appealing for boys but the character writing eh... the only character I like was Antoine, everyone else was too one note, Sonic himself is in one of his most annoying portrayal ever, Sally is boring and naggy, Tails is... there, Bunnie was sorta cute but has no focus, Dulcie was kinda weird and Rotor... err who was that again? Eggman himself is deadly but also rather boring and his nephew... er who was that again?
Also... this isn't something that affected my opinion but it's really not that dark, it's not sugar coated it has some tenseness but most anime that airs even before this that isn't for super young audiences like Doraemon could turn it into tomato puree in that department or... even Swat Katz for a western cartoon go to »
I like this one a lot more than Brotherhood/manga, the slower pacing gave more character development over the more situational based nature of Brotherhoor/manga and most shounen and the villains had more put into them to be less of a pitfall for the heroes and more like a possible product of a past event.
And Ed was also much more complex, he's still his usual smart mouthed self but he still struggles when he sees pain both for himself and others this is my favourite version of the character
Of course there's the voice acting especially the dub as I said the first post I had even if there's some pretty weird voices(hey there Selim) go to »
At first I wasn't so keen since it was much faster paced than the old school stuff I like akin to the problem I had with most newer series
It's still not a favourite of mine but I do want to see more and I do think it gets a bit slower and more throughout development and it was light hearted in an age a lot of series is goin all deconstruction because 'that cliche doesn't make sense so we will crush it' and dark and edgy craze go to »
I like playing the tournament mode it is the usual catchiness with cool new big stages plus there is more dubbed voices now with some voices actually being better than the next game and the music is still great although the graphic of many of the creature type looks so uncanny especially Dedede
But the main single player Subspace hoo boy... I like the idea of a longer story type single player and the two player thing is nice but... most of it is so generic COOOOOL stuff happening in generic settings I think only the DK levels are particularly interesting and actually took advantage of the character personalities instead of MOAR COOLS ACTIONZ and the fact this is the sole way to get some characters if you're not using the match mode go to »
Two men for a female huh, reminds me of Ella from Sonic X
I prefer Cloris for sounding the most like an old lady
Lainie's pretty good as well, definitely much better than her Tails
Of all the two males I prefer Ed for the goofiness, Khary sounds like a raspy man more than anything else
April is just eh and really raspy go to »
Looking back at this my order would be
1 Grey DeLisle- I just kinda like it for some reason
2 Cathy Cavadini
3 Nicole Bouma- passable if a bit annoying
4 Jennifer Friend/Tara Strong- both too similar sounding and cutesy
5 Amanda Leighton- Of all the three new voices... this one got on my nerves the most and just sounds too ditzy and valley girl go to »
@Shaun Ince I have not heard Harlacher, I dunno how Kara is in Supers itself since I'm not really a regular Dragon Ball fan but from the other clip she sounds really soft, though I guess that's the point? go to »
Whew took a long time to finish this it's a looong trip alright(and I'm watching it dubbed yay.)
I've been wanting to watch this for years but somehow other shows took priority and I had huge hopes because I really like the PS2 titles(I'm aware the first game has an original story so I'll just count the second one)
So what do I think of it?
It's a great show I'm glad to finally go through this journey, the voice acting is great in either language(though I heard the Japanese ones in that movie) and it's got great character design. My favourite characters are Mustang, Riza and Ed, it's hard to get me to watch much modern shounen and be invested anymore.
However I did get slightly underwhelmed as well, maybe it's the hype in my mind or maybe it's my standard being set in stone by now, so far of the little I seen of 2003 I prefer the other series more, I think the first few episodes were too fast and started in media res I know it's because of the issue that the first anime covered those but once we get to that... half of the villains, I did not like them, I like the heroes(except for May) but the antagonists? Eh there's Lust who disappeared early and creepy creepy Shou... that's it really I didn't like any of the other villains. go to »
I thought it was okay, not great or something I want to see constantly but decent and harmless, of course I was watching it in Japanese but 4Kids Sonic voices is 4kids Sonic voices(AKA in my words great sounding) although Jason's Sonic in here sounds like a mediocre Jaleel White impression go to »
Eh scratch what I said about Crispin he sounds good in this clip and the hand coloured seasons, it was the digital seasons that sounded like his typical baritone voice(though Lisa's Lina was also sounding more like her usual role there as well)
Daniel actually has an alright voice but for most of it his acting is not so good go to »
They're both pretty good I will admit that I voted for Peter since he was the first one and the only one I heard for a very long time so I didn't hear Jim's take at the time but he was still good go to »
The adventure where Eusine is sent to another world where he meets Eusine-Koff Eugene, Sabrina and Wobuffet where the world has turn into a terrorist land and all sort of dark things happened where Jessie is a matron and 99% of the cast gets the kill em all treatment
This show was pretty alright for the most part then it went crazy with the killing go to »
Ed has potential and is actually one of the few good performances in Big Green so he's third
Sorry Jon but you sound like the Manga dub version of that sidekick of the villain in the Cagliostro film(I forgot the name of the character but I believe that voice actor is Milt Jackson) go to »
I'm almost done with the first season/the Muu(Or Moo, what on earth were the localizer thinking) arc, I already knew before hand it won't be a slice of life monster raising story like the games are so I wasn't expecting too much since there's already so many of these adventure with monster companion stories to save the world out there
It's actually better than I expected, Genki isn't overbearing like... some other heroes out there I won't name after the first few episodes, there were battles that had dramatic tension in it that the characters had to deal on their own that the main protagonist can't really interfere even if they want to and the occasional sappy stuff I like go to »
I wasn't too big on him at first but he got more tolerable overtime(read less overly super keet) though his(English) voice is super adorable good on Ocean for getting someone close to the character age who can also act go to »
After finishing this I do still like this and it can be very genuinely compelling and I like the concept but there were times it was bogged by standard shounen cliche that I think was mostly there from a misaimed idea to try to appeal to boys after what happened with the last two series at the time go to »
I honestly don't particularly like Judd Nelson's take especially in the movie
I prefer Dick Gautier the most with Paul Dobson second then Ben Pronsky third
Travis WIllingham was okay same with Ted Schwartz
Peter had the voice but was a bit flat in delivery
Then we have Judd, I'll give it he's better in Animated but I dunno...
Frank has next to nothing so he's bottom go to »
@HylianBelmont It seems like John was trying to be more like post debut Fullbody that's what I kinda got and Tom was more for the take when you first see him at least that's what I hear in these clips, the character doesn't give me any impression after the moment these clips came from though... go to »
@HienFan Also years later... The voice acting for the Org 13 in this game... Axel is good but then all of the members that were in that game are good anyway, but some of the others... Marluxia has a great voice in both languages though the dub's one was too flat, Zexion sounds atrocious in both side of the globe(too bad, a Tuxedo Mask voice might have worked) Larxene was alright in Japanese but both too preppy girly and dull at the same time in the dub, Vexen is great in the dub but one of the most painful experiences(and boss battle made worse) in Japanese
Lexeaus was passable then again he barely has any lines go to »
Looking super Luke Skywalker today Hiryu. You don't look like you.(granted his manga/NES self is more... buff/80s heroic build looking as well)
I didn't play this port but saw it on Youtube, the new art is very nice and 90s anime looking though the ingame sprite oh gees the colours. voice acting is DEFINITELY better than the other ports go to »
TJ Storm is my favourite he has a gruff voice without being too overdone
Paul is still really good though, he could pull off a voice like that without being too... over the top
Michael McCarty sounds like a generic funky man go to »
*stares at the top note, already knows he is Strider Hiryu's PC voice*
*recalls numerous Star wars reference, Solo the bounty hunter, Hien having a weapon like Darth Maul,(though they debuted in the same year) Grandmaster chancellorn
I still like Scott the most especially in Mario Party but looking back I would put Harvey second, they just sound so similar!
Kenny was very mennacing sounding but I like a more comedic touch as well
Unknown... had the voice but his acting is ho hum go to »
After the Japanese versions of all of the anime, I think I'm sticking to Billie, she sounded the most like what Astroboy is suppose to be, innocent, sweet, someone with a strong sense of justice. Candi is still good but her take is more for the somewhat edgier version of the 2003 dub.
I like Freddie as well for an older take, Steven was also a good version for a little boy acting(though the dub itself is near impossible to find, the only thing I could find was this clip)
Patricia though... she is one of the better voices in that dub but eh... I thought she sounded sleepy the whole time, the voice was too whiney too go to »
This film was something I heard of Wikipedia when I was trying to find an old anime I saw on a Chinese VHS cover back on 2000(I still haven't found it, I just remember a girl in a glass case, and another image in a dark room lit by torches plus a topless woman with barbie detail with body paint)
This film had the issue of broken family that I like, though most of it was Hiromi spending her time with Junkers to get away from it until the conclusion, I thought it didn't dwell on the family situation too much go to »
Considering I dislike both Adventure time and World of Gumball... I actually like this show, I like the character focused writing, the light hearted tone for most of it, it's something I think most male orientated work is missing now go to »
@HylianBelmont I get this feeling they chose Eric was because the character could turn into this older alter ego in the series itself(though not in the movie he voiced the character, granted the movie Brianne was in didn't have it either) go to »
1 Stan Jones- got a good amount of devilishness with some likeable vibe
2 David Boat- I like the accent with a voice that was dark without being too overdone
3 Corey Burton- It's dark sounding for sure, maybe a bit too serious for my liking
4 Tom Wyner- He got an accent for sure but this is too good sounding
5 Unknown- He sounds carricatured go to »
Looking at all the compare and clips here(I already know what Charlie sounds like from a clip on Youtube) I have to say this- the adults sounds way better than the kids who are all just boring or annoying to listen to go to »
I don't think either of them are that good, Julia was slightly more distinct of the two but her acting is flatter while Emily has more energy that voice is just generic but I guess I'll stick with Julie go to »
I kinda wish everyone in this page has the same treatment as Teen Titan go, totally bananas... and the only thing good about it, this was just a very awkward mix, I get the weird slapstick both have, but the two type of humour often just clash against each other trying to compete themselves.
If there was that time I say that sentimental moment are killed by forced on comedy, the deal with Charlie telling his grandparents about the ticket was a pretty good example of not having much confidence in your own writing.
Voice acting was good though, Helmeppo/Goku/Lucario and Secret Squirrel/Crash Bandicoot together FTW go to »
Paul was actually pretty okay(compared to some of the other film voices) but I prefer June's voice for whatever reason, she had a decent voice for most of her boy roles together with her old ladies ones go to »
I actually like this show... and not in the so bad it's good way, I know it's not the perfect or even particularly well budgetted but I did think it was cute and fun and reminded me of the games go to »
It's worth saying it but of the two media Scott voiced Willy, I prefer the cartoon over the anime, the latter sounds too high pitched for my liking kinda like Dean Galloway(or even Speedy Cerviche) go to »
I still think this is the best KH game especially in the smooth gameplay and the darker but still not overwhemingly so that the later titles suffer from story but I have to say the handling of the Disney element is everywhere, the original stories were still decent if downplayed in the long term to make room for Org 13 but some of the worlds(especially Atlantis) are just poorly done take of the source materials just with our trio tacked in it go to »
Doug is still top boss tier though Graham would be second, I did like Patrick as well he was one of the better roles in the PSP port, Robert was alright if a bit light, Garry was hilarious while Michael G... was weird go to »
Yuffie has one of the more solid voices between FF characters with more than one voices I prefer Mae a bit more, she was around longer and she was slightly less go getter girl and more tomboyish go to »
Wait this is getting dubbed? I saw this years ago in Japanese, anyway it's an alright mystery show with lovely environment only thing is that Kazuya is such a disposable lead that doesn't really help when it matters kinda like every other protagonist of today go to »
Jeff is one of Japan's better voice actors in XII but as Andy he just keeps shifting pitch that makes the whole thing weird to listen to, Peter Wilds acting was a bit weird too but his voice is more consistent and a lot more pleasing to listen to go to »
I honestly don't think Paul Reuben fits that character on the other hand Pat was exactly how I thought he should sound like, Lou was pretty close though, Roger was a bit jarring but not as much as Paul go to »
This game was hilarious although I dislike how you have to play it THREE TIMES to get the movie edit function and it gets ridiculously hard to reach the points to get the audition once you reach the gold challenge
Though if you do... you get to see your each event with who you thought was the funniest for that audition(personally I thought Patrick was a gold mine for a majority of the audition especially the earlier ones) and Mermaidman's performance is so fun and bombastic go to »
This show has some ridiculously memorable lines and deliveries
For what's it worth every season had been hit and miss I think though I thought 4 was the worst of the lot but of all the seasons... season 1 was the only season I really really like the colours(I was that kind of person, I still am), the more serene acting clashing with the weird stuff that could happen it was gold go to »
You know I found it interesting they kept the voice actors of the Young Joseph for his old self in Battle Tendency but unfortunately not really for the old one I wouldn't mind Ben and Sugita returning for Stardust Crusader for something new but ehhhh...
Speaking of Ben he was the one voice I thought was probably the best voice in the main series dub, at least he had some experience with the accent so he could put on the voice more consistently without slipping out go to »
Ashley was cuter and more memorable sounding for what's it worth I think Terra herself looks absolutely adorable and I liked her more than Starfire and Beast Boy, too bad for her ultimate fate in the Teen Titans cartoon go to »
I guess both are better fitted as this version of Bakura than the normal one... I already said my word on the main page though of the two, definetely Ted he has one of the better voices in the English version of the series as well, Chuck was rather corny sounding go to »
This game was fun, Puzzle game and Pokemon what more can I ask(if only Jigglypuff was playable... I'd play it more often(that and I'm alone on Puzzle games with AI that will feel brain dead after awhile...)
The only problem was that the audio is so repetetive and grating sounding especially Ritchie who already has a very annoying voice I think but this was the period Veronica Taylor raised her voice too much too and you have to play as Ash in single player mode go to »
This game was so good, the world is absolutely beautiful, they kept the great 3D Pokemon models from the last gen and upscaled everything else and like the last gen petting Pokemon is always cute go to »
The one game you can play as your favourite toy if it was not Woody or Buzz like... Rex(well actually I thought RC and Lenny were insanely cute for bit characters plus the former was one of the other starters) go to »
With the order on rearranged a bit I'm gonna say it, J Pat O'Malley is the man for Hathi, Jim is just okay when he speaks though his singing was really good in the PS1 game, both the kids impression are only average but Stephen was a bit awkward go to »
One thing about Richard roles in general like this... is that they all sound practically identical(and personally I think it sounds annoying on most characters), Ben Diskin at least sounded unique go to »
And almost all past comments of Tennis Daisy must be really weird now...
Anyway for my words, Jessica's version is so bubbly and adorable sounding, hers was what I always imagined the moment I heard her take, she took that cheerful take and nailed it perfectly.
Jen was also adorable and much better than her Peach although I prefer her Mario Party 3 and 5 voice over the edited 4 as it's more natural and bubbly.
Deana... she was fairly good in Mario Party 6 and 7 where it sounded like Jen Taylor's but with a more distinct flavour combining a cute bubbliness and a tomboyishness for that alone she and Jessica are very close but otherwise... her Gamecube voice was fairly good but around the Wii era not so much especially in the earlier Wii titles where she sounds too aggressive and fiery instead of the cute bouncy happiness I believe she should have
As for my ultimate choice I am contested both Jessica and Mario Party 6-7 Deanna are very good though considering I voted Jessica for Birdo I think I'll throw Deanna a bone go to »
Am I the only one who thought a lot of his other range is very sadly overlooked to his goofy high pitched voices? His Miki Kaoru is practically not what one would expect from his usual role, he could be a good Hikaru Midorikawa's English counterpart if he had more opportunities like this go to »
I'm not sure if I should post it here for Princess Serenity but both Terri and Linda actually did really good I think for the more mature take, Stephanie was good for the most part as well but sometimes slip into her Sailor Moon voice go to »
I was first exposed to the series out of this film with the dub
It certainly painted a lot of what I expected the series to sound like including much despised ideas like Rini's voice
It was why I initially voted for Linda as well as her sample sounded like what I recalled and was what I painted into my head(though that's also because I couldn't stand her Japanese or Speedy voices...)
And then I found out Terri is the voice for this film... although by then I had taken a liking to Linda's Super S and Queen Serenity voice, I'll be honest I prefer Terri's take here compared to her earlier one...
As for the film itself it was okay still goofy like SuperS(and I found SuperS Meh) but it still had a more emotional film than the main season and it looks really good too go to »
@WrightWay You like Ted's Eusine? Great wonderful I am happy for you and 50+ other people, but there are ALWAYS fans who prefer another choice and to be honest it doesn't really matter what one thinks in the end and quality can really vary by taste too for EVERYTHING even Pokemon USA go to »
@Shaun Ince Yeah a lot of the voices aren't great... when I was checking the dub every now and than the shocked drink stand man in episode 10 yet with completely non emotive voice was just terrible go to »
@1dbad Normally I try to considering how adaptations handle on their own if they had to diverge, the ending was pretty dark but most of the filler oh boy... shonen cliche on aboard! Sad as I love Shiemi but they push her aside on the original contents go to »
@Metabad Who knows maybe we'll get the LA dub for another special related more to the game again one day if they keep him as this role
Although I do think you are right on the nose of what I was thinking about the 4Kids voices, Ted... what a waste... Dan was at least decent considering by that point the 4Kids dub was already plummeting in quality go to »
I think I'm gonna switch Cam and Raj, Raj's problem was his acting but he at least sounded calm while Cam was very... perky sounding(granted Blake's take is more arrogant than the peaceful vibe of Raj and Michael but that version was brainwashed but my point of him being the most childlike sounding stays) go to »
@1dbad Surprised you noticed that of Linda, I had enjoyed her later take more but I think a lot of people remember her more for the Terri imitation I didn't like SuperS but Linda's voice was one of the best things there go to »
While I already criticized the Hoenn dub by the time Mike Pollock narrated it I did think Andrew Paull was a great voice actor including for this guy, he was one of 4Kids more underrated actors and I am glad they got him back for the anime and he even polished up a bit
But in the end if there was a compare for this character I have to stick to Sheryl Stanley, Peter was more mature sounding but I dunno really, I think he should be lighter but why can't he use that for X before? Whyyyy? go to »
This new season might as well be a reboot, I'm not sure if it will turn out like the game's situation
As for the dub er... it's not really as bad as when they started but a lot of character sounds more like how they did in Diamond Pearl especially Ash himself, I think they changed the voice director again it kinda reminds me more of the 4Kids dub earlier on go to »
@HylianBelmont I applaud Brawl for dubbing the overseas version but it seems like they were struggling to deal with so many voice actors at that time as well, Lani was decent enough as Pit but here ehh... not so much maybe if she had came back for the next game though things might change but alas go to »
And this show is one of the main reason why I am glad I am leaning more to anime(though kids anime has the same problem, I'm more of a Seinen fan even as a kid) though I think it's more of a problem with nick either they have no real confidence with their series and cancel them prematurely or they do and milk it forever and ever and ever and ever and ever with no real change, I can accept it with Spongebob sorta as they kept the cast but for this show....
I like it well enough though I do know almost no message stick because... somehow kids cartoon can never really stick to learning anything apparently season 4 and 5 were hit and miss and then... you know the Bleach incident? It's pretty similar LET'S THROW IN NEW CHARACTERS EVERYONE ELSE NOT THE MAIN OR STICK TO OUR MAIN MESSAGE CAN GO NAP IN THE HAY STACK.
Too bad as some older character can have a lot of solid ideas but no... 'nobody' wanted them apparently which is sad as Chester is my favourite character in the show and Boy that become queen could have progress into a very interesting direction without turning the series into something else with a very positive message to progress beyond shallowness even if the creators never wanted Timmy to be with Trixie it can still work go to »
I have not seen the live action films for years to judge on how accurate the Monsters Unleashed voices are but I think most of them in that game sounds boring, Adrienne included but since she wasn't kid Daphne I will put her at fifth go to »
For what's it worth I did think it was pretty unique and easy to recognize(and I dang well like it) and he has more range than it seems if you only look at his usual roles(though when a character gets too excited you can hear his usual voice was a big giveaway it defintely got me figuring out an NPC voice in Trauma Center) go to »
I doubt I will get this game but with all these replacements it was everywhere there were some decent voices but a lot of strange impressions especially the ones that are added for the consoles particularly Neil Kaplan's impressions though Yuri's impressions were actually decent go to »
And Andre is taken out(though I can see why I doubt he actually spoke) so with these Sparx to be honest only Billy I kinda sorta like the other two were too faraway of what I imagine this character go to »
I'm gonna post about the 4Kids voice here as it's been quite a while I said anything, I do not really like anime Giovanni at all but Ted did his best and he had a decent voice, Craig was kinda miscasted from what I heard of his work that he is more comfortable with softer voices(and again direction at that time also probably worsen it) go to »
This game was super fun(although Amy and Ralph's voices are terrible here, this was also when Kate Higgins Tails was beginning to sound contradictory to what she had said in the earlier times she voiced him) but the gameplay is really good, managed to blend the multiple vehicles well and most lap feel different from each other and look amazing especially Sky Arcadia's go to »
Just watching this, it had a strong start but I have to switch to Japanese, dub tried to be unique with those accents but I don't think it was worth it when everyone's acting has pauses for each syllables go to »
I heard his Funimation test dub voice somewhere, absolutely horrible, men should not voice Luffy EVER and not just Odex(though I thought Chuck was better of the two), Colleen was a much better fit(though still not super ideal to my ears) go to »
@huzaifa_ahmed That explains some terms like the infamous Zolo...
I wonder how it would have been if Toei had more reins in Funimation voice cast maybe I would appreciate it more and not watch it subbed, I have NEVER been a person to like joining in bandwagons, I like to think in a lot of broader factors(heck I like the old dub for Sailor Moon for their voice acting though some translation at times was a bit weird) the way I see it 4Kids had weird translations in the anime but it wasn't ALL bad there were still genuinely good factors and that counts for Funimation too as popular as it is go to »
I am not big on most modern(and by modern I mean as early as the 90s) DC cartoons but wow this looks like something I missed out big time, the voice acting is good, it looks pretty good, it seems to be more light hearted than the average modern DC series(sure darker series can be good and fun but I am never huge on taking huge doses of them at a time) go to »
He has this great deep voice with a (genuine or maybe false) sense of assurance that makes one feel like everything is fine and if the character is evil whoops, he was the choice for Naraku no wonder so many cast fallen to his trap but it was still good for mentor type like Alastor go to »
My second favourite New York voice actor(after a certain Jason Griffith) and one of my favourite voice actors ever. her Blaze was beautiful and melancholic while she also has a cute spunky voice for both boys and girls go to »
She had a huge range even discounting the obvious, even with similar voices she could give them different characteristics(although whether it happens varies), seriously her Meowth and Kureha sounds like different characters go to »
This work had some pretty ambitious ideas(though how well they are handled really varies... anything with Wheeler and Linka automatically sucks though I also dislike their archetypes as well...) but the best thing I remember is the blue skinned man with green hair go to »
I love this game, the voice acting I like too but then I'm super vintage with voices since forever but there were some cool voices you never really hear with the rest of the series like Bakuryu, Long, Yugo, Shenlong and Marvel go to »
I have this in Japanese and it's a decent game(though I don't really like the 3D models in this game, the ones with the drastic makeover afterward had better models) so it's interesting to hear the dub but unfortunately... it's terrible
I know 4 was criticized for it's dub but almost everyone here sounds so dull and boring, only Yugo, Bakuryu, Marvel and Busuzima were good... well Long did have the voice as well go to »
While I did have all of the Sony titles I don't have this game since I did not own any of the consoles this was in at the time
The voice acting was surprisingly high profile compared to the other titles which had the lower end budget actor of their time most of them were decent except for Marvel/Shiina and (to be really honest) Bakuryu was a lot more extroverted sounding than he really is too
I had seen the endings it was a bit weird with the animation and moving lips but no voice acting go to »
They ironed a lot of the bugs from the PS1(though I actually hated playing on the PSP so that was kinda moot for me...) so that's great but I am actually mixed on this port despite it being on my favourite, I like the item organization better and trying to flesh out Dias other than a sleepy AIR SLASH AIR SLASH spammer and the voices are great... in Japanese... the dub I was didn't like at all and it would plague the series with this kinda 4Kids direction, Claude, Precis and Bowman finally sound good but Ashton sounds completely horrible here while most of the women except Chisato were grating go to »
I seen this before, I don't like it, I think they were trying to be more comedic like many of the PA and it made everyone a lot more stereotypical than they were in the games(especially Claude blah I liked him in the game but in here he's my least favourite character), their treatment of Ashton was particularly appalling even by chew dog character standard
But the few things good I can say is that this has the BEST voice acting in English(and I guess Japanese but so did the PSP remake for this case) the original game I had a guilty pleasure for but there were still some terrible hiccups like Bowman and Claude and the PSP dub... I don't like most of it... while this at least have a very stellar amazing dub and Allen had a better design here and is more fleshed out than the generic games version, I just kinda wish these voice actors should have been in one of the games rather than what the later games had go to »
I still prefer Andrea but now that I am watching Viz's dub and starting on Final Act, of those two I prefer... Kira Tozer... Moneca can act but I never liked her voice before and I like it less now go to »
I heard this guy's Ash(I wanted to hear the foreign Pokemon voices, Clefairy/Melofee/Pippi is actually cute there without being teeth rotting like it's Japanese) he actually sounds older than Brock! go to »
Something interesting to note about this guy was that in Malaysia his name is spelled as Enel which is suppose to be the official spelling but in America it's Eneru even in the Funimation version go to »
@JTurner I was thinking more of their work for the Ghibli films but oh boy their later princess films, they are decent but had a lot of wasted ideas, padded back by songs or certain messages overshadowing things that could be fleshed out better(plus the later princesses are so formulaaiic) go to »
@JTurner I don't usually want to reply about things like these as I do not like to argue about dubs but I know how much you love Disney but I tried but I'm already very apprehensive about Disney's more recent voice work ever since this whole celebrity craze since the 90s and it never got better(and before you ask yes I can say that for Ghibli's later films too but that is another story) and this is no exception go to »
Huh that Jiang Wei/Jeremy Kent Jackson has a compare at last(just not Jiang Wei) he actually sounds a bit like Drake Bell, I can hardly hear Keith but he sounds too whispery and generic from what I can hear go to »
This will be the last time I talk about the dub unless I have something good to say as I already said my word on the Laputa page, both dubs were hit and miss once again central protagonist were with what I usually thought for the Disney dub but there weren't any real super horrible work I think almost everyone were stellar enough for both dubs go to »
This is one of my favourite Ghibli films, I really like the more modern Japanese setting instead of the more old fashioned ones or European settings they usually have plus the whole romance angle and Shizuku's ambition to be a writer with the unusual and gorgeous world of Iblard go to »
Not one of my favourite films by Ghibli, I got pretty agitated too after awhile since I was watching the dub(again) and the girls voices oh gees... I know what they are going for but I rarely like listening to child actors, the best voice was their Dad and he doesn't show up enough
I'm gonna say that Streamline is better on this actually... go to »
I only watch Ghibli films in Japanese as I dislike most of their major leads voices in English when I tried to listen to the dubs
But for the dubs here... it was Disney's best effort and one of Streamline's worst but I still think it Disney's had it's problem... Pazu's voice seriously THAT is what he sounds like? It's a nice voice but it's just way too jarring after watching the Japanese version and this was where Streamline was better
Overall though this movie was a great watch go to »
His birthday is almost two weeks before mine, but for my words on him, I love his deep voice, he can be very funny or downright sexy sounding and I generally share what he thinks(though not so much his words on Sonic...) go to »
I think it was cool there was a series for the older cast at the time this was made but I did not like the dub here at all... just like in Hoenn, Marina and Jim were just so high pitched and overbearing to listen to and everyone knows what I thought of Mike Pollock's narration, the best I could say is we see more of Brock's family go to »
I love this series, the females might not always be very well fleshed out(Keiko hi) but it is very captivating and had a lot of well fleshed out villains and every arc(except the last) are unique and have a lot of twist and turns
With that said Funimation dub is alright but I prefer the sub, Megumi Ogata has the best role of all of them I think go to »
Watched 1/3rd of it, it does feel long and I think both Koga and Shippo(more so Koga as I thought Shippo had some good moments... Koga? Just a competitor that is in no way viable when he was pretty blood thirsty and cooooold at first) but it was a lot of fun, the art is great, the quality is outstanding and holds up well and the characters were fun(except for Koga...) go to »
This was kinda meh(and most of the character designs were really loose with the source material especially Yuri) I didn't like what they did to King(my favourite character in the first two Art of Fighting titles) in particular
But there was something good out of it... the dub performance of Ryuhaku, easily one of Carter's best voices go to »
This poster looks so stereotypical Hollywood movie.
But I only stopped by here just because Liza Ortiz was half of the voice director, unfortunately it seems she's the only New York voice actor involved at all but it was kinda funny to see her name with all these union LA actors go to »
Some of the compare from Speedy were from this film so might as well give my word for that dub... I can't stand it, it's not an earbleed but it's just so booooring and has a lot of redundant sentences, luckily they since stopped during english dubs to just do Malay ones as much as I can barely read it, still dull voices unfortunately go to »
I'll be honest Kappei Yamaguchi I thought was kinda annoying as Inuyasha(and Ranma for that matter)
But regardless both of these guys are good, Darren has a more romantic take and it lends well to Inuyasha's darker moments but not so much his hot blooded moments but he(and Sango) had one of the best voices for Animax
Richard is very solid, he had a passionate voice and has one of the best voices for Ocean too(also with Sango) I think he was flexible and aged well so I'll take him go to »
I wasn't too keen at first that this was CG(although most freeze shot did look 2D) or the more realistic design but then the dub cast shows up... it was one of my favourite kind of cast with New York and LA together and... Jason Griffith replacing Joshua Seth role is what caught my eyes I had an expectation of what Joe would sound like when reading the manga but Joshua Seth was grafted into my head when watching the 2001 series which was before this dub announcement happened so I just thought it wouldn't be as good when I tried sampling a bit of the dub but overtime... the voice that was on my head at first won out and you can see it on the compare
But the dub in general was pretty good and now I really want to see this go to »
His Toonami Asia for Super voice actor kinda sound like Josh Martin but also really screechy kinda like Josh version fused with Toad of Mario fame he is a bit better than Corby's weird Jar Jar Binks impression though but overall he's third, both Scott and Josh are better go to »
Danny McKinnon does sound deeper(Kinda like Brad Swaile's Kimba actually) but he had a soft spoken voice, Alex was alright though he did sound kinda whiny at times and he did voice the character during the entire time it wasn't computer coloured) go to »
I realize I should have said something about this.
So the unknown was from the so bad it's hilarious Big Green/AB Groupe, I thought she was from the Speedy dub, either way not great... she has better work as... everyone else she voiced
Colleen was bad too, she was great at Gohan and I guess Luffy was okay too though Maso from Shin Chan was kinda not to my liking but here hoooobbooooyyy it sounds way too much like Brina Palencia's boys which tended to be super grating and unlikeably bratty go to »
I read the manga up to little island before taking a break, this series is fairly good if I think the battles to character sections were a bit uneven at times(although it might just be Shonen cliche by now) but I think once in awhile someone other than Luffy should deal with the main baddy of the arc especially in the Kuro arc which honestly I think had wasted potential
As for the voice acting, Japanese is AWESOME for most of it and I like certain touches that were lost in some of the dub(though weirdly some of the performances were present in the 4Kids dub only like Arlong's dramatic flair)
Odex well... usually they are closer to Animax quality in voices, poor acting, a bit blandish voices but passable enough but here there's quite a lot of cringe inducing voices particularly Luffy, Ms Valentines Day, Usopp's first voice and Krieg's but there were a few good sprinkled every now and then
4Kids, I have a love hate for this dub, I really dig a lot of the voices especially villains, 4Kids really know how to make them unique and memorable and can take subtle hints though they too had their stinkers like Tashigi and Yasopp but the translation was really extremely censored like their later Pokemon dub and Mew Mew Power but the PS2/Gamecube games redeemed them... if only they had a better ADR...
And that leaves us with Funimation, I know almost everyone loves it, it was more faithful than 4Kids without the weird voices that bogged Odex but I'm kinda love hate with this too they didn't sanitize the show but sometimes there are places they tried to be more edgy instead and I don't like it at all, the voice acting was mostly solid but some of the more notable villains particularly Arlong and Crocodile just sounds so booooooring and this was something 4Kids was very good at go to »
Eh this guy... he can be a decent voice director but he has a habit of rerereusing voices(and not just for himself) within the same work Geodude, Snorlax, Dewgong, Koffing and Muk all pretty much sound the same good or not and his Blaine was terrible though I did like his Psyduck and I guess Karoo was good too go to »
Peter Ploszek is alright, better than Johnny at the very least
You know while I do think Jason has a pretty good voice this might be the only time in a long time he doesn't get my vote, I just prefer a lot of these voices better than what he has here and even if it's normal Leo I thought Cam and Seth were perfect go to »
I might get the game one day most likely the 3DS version but you know what... Ryu and Jigglypuff in the same game... my dream has come true, my favourite cuddlepuff gets to face the king of fighting games or even Cloud from one of the most groundbreaking RPG ever go to »
I thought I missed his birthday but it seems to be later than I thought but happy birthday to the original Leonardo, he had a great unique voice and I am glad he does show up for the games I play from time to time like the Tales series even in Dawn of the new world when most of the original Symphonia cast could not reprise their roles
He is also an amazing singer and did a great job both singing and speaking for Simba go to »
As I am watching this recently(most of my exposure were to... Video games... like every other long anime at the time)
I love Rumiko Takahashi's character design and they translate to animation very well especially this with it's good animation with very nice colours especially during the cel animation days which had one of the best quality which sadly we won't see anymore
As for voice acting I've been shifting between Japanese and dub, I had heard the Animax dub which was of varying quality, Kagome's voice is quite good but Miroku eh... the Ocean dub was better later on as the earlier episodes had very wooden acting too while the Japanese dub is very consistent go to »
Ah yes it came to my mind that this series had a Speedy dub with acting similar to Dragon Ball Z(heck most of the females sounded like Krillin in said dub) I only had two episodes that I'm a little too fearful to touch again go to »
@HienFan After playing some SW1 again(ahh the nolstalgia, I still believe it is THE BEST in the series ever) Kirk Thornton's voice wasn't as good as I remember, I'd say he has the worst voice of the new Xtreme Legends characters, it's not terrible it's just a tad too light and his acting hoo boy... go to »
I watched a few episodes(in Japanese) it was tolerable at first but the main shorts got repetitive and really annoying after awhile, too bad as some of the other shorts(I loooove Komasan) can be pretty cute and funny go to »
I'm surprised Tracey is more popular than Giovanni of all his roles on this page but since I won't be here for his birthday, Happy Birthday to one of Pokemon's no scratch that, New York's best voice actors, Tracey is my favourite role ever with King Dedede second and James third and Flint fourth, he was also one of the sole good voices in the Toshinden OVA go to »
With one of the clip updated(not sure which but I don't think it was Ben) and all the other compares out there, I think all of Phoenix voice actors actually work though I do think Trevor had the best voice, he was a bit more serious than the others but still sounds reasonably young.
Sam was alright though he could sound whiney.
Ben had barely any line but he was less whiney and very passionate, go to »
I had the dub of this game, listening now there were a lot of weird acting, Yugo couldn't even pronounce Nagi properly like. Uriko and Shenlong were pretty bad although Alice and Stun were pretty good go to »
One of my favourite characters in the series unfortunately I think his English voice is kinda miscasted as I thought the childlike voice of the late Shiho Niiyama is the best though I guess they fit the more Hiryu design
Though of all of them I will go with Blake who at least sounds like an actual teenager and kinda cute, too bad that's his only role known
Second is Michael Naishtut, third is Cam who was a bit too familiar but still better than Raj's flat voice go to »
The reason why I didn't like Erin Fitzgerald's Morrigan is the same reason as most of Jenny's voices, especially Tasia but Samantha wasn't too great either, Alison wasn't as sexy but her voice is too high so I'm going with Michelle go to »
Wow look at some of these designs they look ridiculous like Dynasty Warriors 7
Anyway again I cannot access this title, as the PC port is kinda jacked up and I do not have the other ports but considering the dub isn't so great anymore in this series maybe it's for the better to stick to Japanese voices but is the story any darker? I heard it was historically accurate which I don't care for but the last two titles tended to be too light hearted and shallow to really suck into go to »
This game was when I thought Samurai Warriors peaked early at the first game, I know that the two new types of moves are meant to add variety but I wasn't a big fan of them
But what actually gripe me was that the stories here while trying to be a little more historically accurate was shallower and much less personal than the first game, female characters in particular suffered from shallow stories but the more popular characters were also pretty cliche and don't get me about Okuni and Ranmaru...
As for the voice acting I wasn't pleased that it got changed and most were only so so and amateurish, the only ones that are great are Okuni, Hideyoshi, Tadakatsu, and Kanetsugu although I guess Magoichi, Ranmaru, Masamune, Ina and Nagamasa were alright as well go to »
I don't really like Starfire's original design in the comic I will say that(something like that DC Universe picture) it looks a little too... adult in an exaggerated awkward manner for a teen titan and that voice is... eh... Kari was a lot better for the older take
Hayden is adorable and sweet, that's her best role ever and the best take for her go to »
Happy week late birthday Greg, he was a good replacement for many a WB and HB replacements, it's too bad about what happened with his life and what could have happened had he did something to help himself go to »
@Lps and pokemon fan I wasn't even trying to be mean, he was at a time where the dub wasn't that great so he didn't really had time to show his full potential however I can see that but at the same time there were others that had more potential at the same time go to »
Ja Green was actually pretty decent in Zero, changing my vote to him with Jay second, Grant third and Jock I'm still not really big with, I can at least see an appeal with Ja's Leon but Leon eh go to »
Considering I don't really watch TV anymore and encounter this on a stumble I will say this I don't dislike it, it won't be on my fav but it doesn't earn my dislike like the PPG reboot or the later seasons of Fairly Odd Parents go to »
Great now we get Kyle's normal voice for this page
Although my vote stays, I love Skip's performance and it will forever be my favourite role from him, I actually thought Richard is really good, he was better in other moments than in that clip though, Tong is also good and one of the better voices in the cartoon, Kyle is good but I will still say he's my least favourite go to »
There's a lot of good voices in the cartoon but Cody is not one of them
But I'll be honest I don't think any of them are very ideal but I'll go with Michael T Coleman though as much as I dislike Michael Donovan's voice at least it had more personality than Rick Calvert go to »
Veronica Taylor I was already anticipating when I heard the news and I will say this she is hands down the best voices of the main cast of the Viz dub, it's very similar to her Nico Robin without the accent and it works very well
Susan was okay if a bit high when talking
Sabrina was decent in R but too squeaky in the films
Jill I won't count as it's mostly a dub error go to »
Changing to Bill he was better in the anime also Sean wasn't that great it was sorta okay here if very stereotypical loner voice but in Smash 4 when he has to be more aggressive it's very forced wherelse Bill in general is more natural go to »
Of the males Cam is by far better, for the female Marcella and Stephanie are fairly good with Danielle being too squeaky
1 Marcella Lentz Pope
2 Stephanie Lemelin
3 Cam Clarke
4 Yuri Lowenthal
5 Danielle Judovits go to »
1 Phil Harris
2 Ed Gilbert
3 John Goodman
4 Jimmy Hibbert
5 Roddy McDowell
6 Billy Murray
7 Campbell LAne
8 Joel McCrary- sounds almost Shirley Temple Story book Winnie the Poohish
9 AJ Henderson- Lord Cucuface is that you?
10 Pamela Adlon go to »
Maybe it's just me or Roddy sounds kinda like David Hayter
1 Bob Joles
2 Sebastian Cabot
3 Roddy McDowell
4 Ben Kingsley
5 Jim Cummings(Singing)
6 Elizabeth Daily
7 Dee Bradley Baker- it's a bit better in the actual show but still kinda generic
8 Dana Delaney- blandish voice
9 Arthur Grosser- even more blandish voice
10 Jim Cummings (speaking) Strong and terrible sounding trace of Tigger and far too light go to »
I'll be honest about this series, I loooove the Indigo league and I still do(then again gen 1 is forever my favourite) good voice acting for the most part, not as much edit as later parts of 4Kids life and for being gen 1 when it was still establishing itself and wasn't as rigid as later part of the series
I also like Orange Island although I felt Ash's voice degraded to be too cutesy and high pitched.
However as Johto arrived it got really repetitive and the voice acting got really cartoonish plus Misty and Brock got stale...
Hoenn was a bit better but it was when I stopped watching the main series and only focused on the movies, Veronica and the new voice actors(at the time) are mostly good but many of the veteran are starting to sound really cartoonish and that's not getting into Mike Pollock's narrator voice it was sorta acceptable enough at first but as the rest of the 4Kids seasons passed they got really cartoonish and the censorship was really starting to show.
Then it happened... Pokemon USA admittedly they were bizarre in the television version of the special and they were still rusty for the rest of Hoenn but I felt it was an improvement for the later parts of 4Kids.
I did not see Diamond Pearl other than the Arceus film but the voices got better than the entirety of Hoenn.
Best Wishes I only saw snippets off but it sounded good although I have a problem with the protagonists chemistry especially Iris I like the ideal of choosing a black girl and not giving her a stereotypical black personality but they made her so abrasive...
XY is when I picked up the series again, I actually thought the voices improved, the music changes(though I assume it happened around Best Wishes) bugs me but it's my favourite season since Orange Island go to »
@spencermalley935 Those voice actors mainly stuck to dubs for Japanese work that gets usually poorly/not high budget paid AKA voice actors like Kirk Thornton, Matthew Mercer, Jamieson Price and Lauren Landa go to »
I will admit that despite all my complaint about his Jiang Wei's voice he is actually not a miscast or a bad voice actor, there were a few lines in 8 he sounded fairly good and his grunts are bad but he seems to be particularly poorly directed a lot of the time go to »
For what's it worth I thought Jason is good and very unusual for what he has
Paul Eiding did have a bonus for being both versions of Max and he did sound good,
Adam is younger and a slight obnoxious go to »
@Jacob M. Keene I will say that tastes really varies to start with but I agree as well for this case, I don't watch much of the later seasons but I did like Sarah's voice even if it's different from Veronica(Veronica is still very good anyway)
She may be the type mainly for mature women but this is pretty good work for her go to »
RIP I loved his grandpa Lou he did a very good job replacing David Doyle for my childhood, he was also the best replacement for Mel's Speedy and a great Mermaidman with his hilarious hammy performance go to »
I was saving this until this character has his compare but I find many Dreamwork film while it has great animation and designs with (mostly) alright stories, I did not like the over use of celebrity casting and this guy is a noticeable case.
His voice would have been okay but his inflection and acting is strange so I have to go with James as his acting is more natural and less bizzare sounding go to »
@HienFan One thing I have to mention about Emelie is that her casual voice is good but when she yells she can get too girlie and weird sounding, she IS better as Minako than as Rei but still, Cherami also falls into that girlie part but it was surprisingly very solid and the best voice in the Viz dub(though it's kinda a rule for me to prefer Venus' voice out of everyone) go to »
@SteelEthlan I'm aware the 4Kids dub was kinda awkward but I personally feel a lot of the voice work are great, Funimation was alright but there are some stuff I never really open up to(not Buggy's voice but other factors...) go to »
Changing to one of the different sounding voices as half of them sounds too much like one another AKA too generic
Although Alexis Tipton is my least favourite still
So that narrows it to Leah, Trina and Luci, the former did reminds me of Melissa Fahn and the last of Veronica Taylor if even whinier, Trina has a nice comforting voice without being too overt despite the context go to »
@Ross123 Looked up Youtube scratch that they sound identical except for a minor thing that was a reverse of Peach for those two actresses, Samantha has a weird scream as Toadetter wher else for Peach it was Jen who had a weird scream go to »
Listening again none of them are that bad, Renae has that professional news reporter voice to her name, Veronica is sweet and lovable, Sarah was okay if kinda decent celebrity quality, Rebecca is a good Renae imitation, Mae is cute and felt like a realistic normal girly teenage girl while Catherine would be a good older take of Mae's go to »
I have the Japanese copy of this title, no wonder they revamped the series after this, this was pretty much a mediocre Battle Arena Toshinden clone(and considering BAT aged poorly well)
Though the endings range from very funny to downright cool even now
It's kinda amusing these detailed models for Diao Chan and Sun Shang Xiang do not match their ingame models, the latter is also very off looking next to any of her later appearances compared to everyone else go to »
I'm kinda glad they decide to end it instead of beating it around but I will say for a show named Phineas and Ferb EVERYONE else is far more memorable than them, well Ferb is okay but Phineas is astoundingly generic most of the time go to »
@JTurner Considering I'm maintaining my anime account and don't want to overinflate my list that will be a long LONG time before I touch this series but I didn't like the kids voice in Totoro, I doubt I'll like it here either go to »
Changing to David Wills, loved his cackles(plus to be fair the 4Kids dub never went very far to show a more serious side to the character), Mike was still kinda cool, Brian would have been a great Bluto/Brutus but Buggy eh go to »
Having seen the recent dub of the Golden seal I have to admit... if you ask me Sean's voice is not that good(neither is Kurama's to a lesser extend) it's too doofy sounding, Brianne was childish but in a cute way plus considering the baby form is his actual form you know go to »
@Kioea That's what I meant I already figure Linda is not the youngest considering her son is already an adult by then(errm who would let a teen voice direct?) but Fasha does not look like a grandma at all yet Linda sounds like one go to »
My order is the same but I will admit even though Veronica is my least favourite behind that accent she actually had a great voice and it's interesting to hear her sound so mature over her usual sweet voice go to »
Wow Seth Green is late he does sound kinda like Cam Clark actually
1 Cam Clarke
2 Seth Green
3 Michael Sinterniklaas
4 Dominic Catrambone
5 Jason Biggs
6 James Arnold Taylor
7 Scott Whyte
8 Dan Green
9 Jason Griffith
10 Johnny Knoxville
11 Brian Tochi
12 Michael Dobson go to »
Listening now I'm not that big on Brina, it's not cloyingly cute but it's grating, Lisa sounds similar to Ikue while Emelyn technically is from a more somber moment so it's hard to tell her performance in general(as it's hard to find clips of Odex as a whole) but she fitted that moment go to »
@Dr.Who No offense but it's pretty pointless since I'm sure there are plenty of people like myself who genuinely loves Erica's performance just like how you and others loves Coleen and are not just listening to small samples I mean 20 vote is nothing to sneeze at go to »
I never heard of this film until Boo Boo's compare shown up but while the bears look a b it weird the voices are surprisingly dead on plus good especially compared to the other recent movie of Hanna Barbera's properties(*cough* Smurf) go to »
@BioZero216 Did his Rin Okumura ever get any better? This clip sounds like he's always angry and I have not seen the dub but I didn't like him as Kirito at all, seems kinda jarring next to his original voice go to »
@BioZero216 He is a very talented man, he seemed to be in one too many MC role and sounding kinda similar for almost every role though which I find is a shame as some of his other roles at least sounded a bit different from time to time and he is versatile like his Masaomi Kida could emote very well go to »
@spencermalley935 To clarify I dunno if you noticed but I'm generally not a fan of most modern cartoon, I find that behind the hype, I don't really get excited, they tend to have something I feel is a product of today like being a little too far on the seriousness scale or too much on the WACKY scale(*cough* didn't like Adventure time either) and this is the former
Also the character design is kinda weird, I know they might not have a very high budget but everyone looks so flat with no actual depth indicator, the animation might be good but it can be hard to believe when the character design is so flat looking, I think they can afford to have more non union voice actors over this big voice cast go to »
Having heard all three voices long enough I will say that usually Andrea sounds like Carly with a thick Asian accent and is a bit flat, Carly while too tomboyish when compared to the original at least had professional acting but Kari is so adorable sounding I just have to stick to her go to »
@Ross123 Laura's voicing her for three games in a row now... that means... She is officially permanently Rosalina(and the fact Kerri is mainly reused for those two games since she no longer resides in Seattles) go to »
@Scrappy-Fan92 That's why I bothered to rate her second, she's on her own merit just like the other two are plus I thought she sounded good and fitting while Dan was too over the top though still thought Jay was more interesting go to »
Steve did real good making the character sound sweet and sensitive over his usual sarcastic types, Sam surprisingly is second, he didn't sound too much Edd like I initially feared and he sounded decent enough, the Animax woman was similar to Megumi but frankly casting a male would be more beneficial for this character go to »
I will say this that Stephanie is better than some of the older actresses, she sounded closer to the original Japanese version and she sounded geniune while Tracey could get too whiney and Terri was too valleygirl and wasn't very natural when she had to emote
I still thought Linda's later take where she was less Terri like is better but Stephanie was better than the Dic actresses go to »
1 Nolan North
2 David Borenaz
3 Dermot Mulroney
4 Josh Keaton
5 Michael Rye
6 Adam Baldwin
7 Loren Lester
8 Josh Phillips
9 Kevin Smith
10 Aaron Mace
11 John Rubinow
12 Christopher Meloni
13 Cam Clarke
14 Adam Baldwin
15 Grant Moniger
16 Ryan Renolds
17 Gerald Mohr
18 Joseph May
19 Justin Kirk go to »
Yeah James is bleh like I remember him
1 Henry Corden
2 Jeff Bergman
3 Alan Reed
4 Scott Innes
5 Daws Butler
6 Lennie Weinrib
7 Maurice LaMarche- He sounds so off yet...
8 James Arnold
9 Scott Menville- Sorry Robin you're still last go to »
@Ross123 Does anyone like Gladys ep? I never saw it but apparently it was really bad especially how it handles the character, at least the episode Bea was in is okay although Melissa herself is boring go to »
Tried seeing a bit of this series, eh it's okay it wasn't horrible but I wasn't hype about it either, it didn't have the cheesy camp of the 60s series, the sheer awesome 90s of the 90s series and I thought Ultimate Spiderman is better as well go to »
@Ross123 Lani sounded a bit boyish at times(and too similar to an earlier role of hers, Nancy Drew), Karen pacing was off at times, Caren was able to pace better and didn't slip into an almost tomboy voice go to »
Listening more of the dubs, I have to say I don't enjoy Kate Higgins at all, she and Ben Diskin's Umino are my least favourite voices of the new dub, sure Liza was kinda cold but she was less stereotypically girlie girl and didn't have to put a sily accent on
3 Kate go to »
I dunno about Laura, in this clip she sounds like Trunks has lung cancer but in Battle of the Gods she sounds too cutesy, I never really liked her boys roles, I thought they were either too strained or shows her usual typecast.
Cathy sounded more naturally boyish of the two go to »
I already said this on Android's 17 page but... the Big Green voice actor is very bad, congrats Skip you're okay but you're generic and don't fit the character but you're moving up one spot
Matthew is good but generic, Eric is less generic than the others but kinda scratchy, Alistair was also kinda generic but less so than Skip and Matthew(and call me bias but he sounded kinda like Trunks' japanese voice actor as well) go to »
Listening a bit more, if this gets updated I might change my vote to Jason, his deeper moments were exactly how I imagined the character to sound like when reading the manga
But Joshua is still very very good
Walter is okay, his voice was a bit stiff and too deep but he got the melancholy side right
Derek is too peppy but he got better in episode 9 and his acceleration mode is pretty good but too anime generic go to »
@Starscreamsfan She was pretty cool as Taki, the whole of 2 is pretty solid mind you, it was just that she had some pretty shrill screams, but so did the Japanese voice actress so she was just imitating her(unless they didn't dub those?) go to »
@Ross123 Never tried Lego Dimensions, only Lego Star Wars and I once saw Lego Island 2 for the PS1 in a shopping mall as a demonstration but looks like you have one of those series
But I guess I'll look for this and hope it has enough content without the toys(there was a crappy MMO I saw somewhere in a Game Grump video which won't let you progress at level 10 without a premium account... and you have to buy the game on Steam to even play it) go to »
@Ross123 From what I heard he only had three games, 3 and Knuckles, CD and Unleashed and he liked that last one, not sure about the others or these people that are involved considering some of them sound bored as can be while they're at least good in the actual cartoon go to »
@Music Meister Yay let's see our hero go into the trailer with some women and then wake up without any clothes to face this woman who sent him to the underworld and his clothes are flying about and he puts it all on stylishly jumping about while objects censor the worst parts, how cool is dat? go to »
@Ross123 Thinking about it if this use real toys, I'm not gonna buy it, it looks interesting but considering I spent most of my entertainment money on video games and art supplies, I do not need another money burner go to »
@Ross123 Well there were some decent tie in games back then but after Toy Story 3, every single one I heard look sucky
Still I have to wonder how will the reception be in a five more years will the blow soften like what happened to the other Sonic games or will it be Bubsy 3(it already have a terrible fate but I'm also referring to the endless chatter, sheesh for all the talking no one has a personality in the game)? go to »
On second thought I prefer Danny Coleman, he does real good in adding depth and comedy and he is a real standout in SW2(though Yukimura, Okuni, Magoichi, Ranmaru, Tadakatsu and Kanetsugu aren't that bad either) go to »
@Ross123 Not going to get this even if I ever get a WiiU but from what I heard that the reason why it's the way it is, is because of both the troubled productioning and that they also wanted to add a lot of stuff(lot of puzzles that are pretty different) and the latter takes a long time and a lot of budget to make and unless you are already stable trying to do that is more likely going to not end well like Simon the Sorcerer 3 can say(read: the company got even more financially dire than it already was) go to »
I dunno how I feel of this show, it's definetely my least favourite Capcom animation but it's kinda goofy in a so bad it's good way but still not to the same level of Street Fighter, Megaman, Mario or even Game N go to »
@LordofEvil96 And who is the one who does the highest amount generic ninja voices for it to start? Guess, I didn't dislike it but I don't feel much for it either, Josh is perfect and Justin is good as well go to »
Don't have this game but meh didn't care for the voice cast of the Darkstalkers cast, Dimitri is good and the best voice of everyone counting the Ar Tonelico and Mana Khemia 2 cast(I have those titles) and I guess Lilith and Jedah are good as well but not so much the rest of the DarkStalkers cast go to »
1 Chris Gray
2 Ian Corlett
3 Ruth Shiraishi
4 Cole Howard
5 Gregory Smith
6 Doug Parker- It's a good Popeye voice and fit the very goofy tone but err as regular Megaman not so much go to »
Saw this film in Japanese loooong before the dub or even before I heard the news of the recast but by the time I saw the dub it's years since I knew the recast from Movie 11 so I know what to expect, it's an nice wrap for the Hoenn saga and a good goodbye for the hand coloured days(aww) go to »
23 Milo go to »
@JTurner I already said this before but it was mainly the voice that killed Lara's work for me, it's really childish and saccharine, I understand Streamline's dub is not popular but it wasn't a trainwreck at least to me but I'm not sure if Sheeta needs to sound that cutesy go to »
@SteelEthlan Well as I said on the individual pages there are still some voices(almost half of the compare) Funimation did better partly because... some of the 4Kids voices were kinda goofy(I don't need to say anything about Tashigi) but you know, though Funimation really need to catch up they still haven't even reached the Amazon island yet go to »
@Metabad I saw a bit of them on my NicoNico account, one of them actually dubbed the opening had a VERY weird sounding Donatello but I actually like the voices there for the most part, the VHS dub of the first movie used that dub also recasted Don to Takeshi Kusao
The dub that got made into the OVA was only so so if you ask me... and really hot in Japan to make it to the beginning of season 5(the others got canned around season 3-4), Krang sounds like... the Japanese Meowth of Pokemon fame
The version that was closer to the US version, the VHS version of the TV series and the theater version of the first movie was kinda bland of what I heard go to »
@SteelEthlan I know what you mean and let me tell you I do not support censorship(if I did I'd like the Nelvana's Cardcaptor Sakura but I don't and the voices doesn't help) but I was mostly on voices, I thought some of the more notable cast in the Funimation dub of this series sounds like they were playing it too safe(while 4Kids did have a few miscast they were a bit more creative on voices)
Also 4kids did get to voice three video games which were less edited than the actual anime helps go to »
@Ross123 The best thing I can say is, yay after so many years now we can have Marth not speaking in Japanese, his Japanese voice is good but it gets old when Ike and Lucina are introduced and they don't speak Japanese outside of Japan(it made sense in Melee when Fire Emblem was Japan only but Brawl onward not so much) go to »
@Ross123 Well Ultimate Spiderman did have the problem of weird pacing(gags before serious moments.... really people?) the sad thing is it's VERY common lately but considering my increasingly shrinking list of what I consider good well...
My sister like Friends but me not so much but that may be because I wasn't very big on watching Sitcom other than Mr Bean(and yes that is better than this) go to »
@pete Nooope, Japan only sadly, I would have liked to see Cam Clarke, Rob Paulsen, the late James Avery(considering he was alive at the time), Pat Fraley(Krang's Japanese voice was soooo annoying) to have dubbed this though go to »
@Starscreamsfan As I said I didn't hate it(though frankly to be honest I like Ultimate's design better) though the colouring... I found it too pale and their eyes are so lifeless(no shines), I never seen this show yet to really give a real opinion go to »
So far I have been prefering the Ocean dub of this particular version of B-Daman, this is no exception, Dave's a good voice actor but he didn't do anything to make the character more interesting and just gives a 2 dimensional take for this character, Aaron actually gives some depth go to »
@Ross123 Also if Noir Spiderman ever get split(if they ever found a clip for Yuri's) I can only imagine the order... I have no idea how Yuri's Noir sounds like but I can imagine it being better than Milo's go to »
With the real SW3 actor realized, Kirk has an okay voice, it's just that his acting was kinda off, I like Nigel's voice being able to balance some intelligence along with being strong, James was okay but his voice was a bit too dumb muscleish go to »
Eh I remember this guy, I recall his voice being utterly irritating(and how I got known about Ben Diskin), Ben's always been very hit and miss(with more miss on his anime roles) and it shows here go to »
@VocalChameleon There were some voices I like in Funimation mind you, but there were some faults in that dub as well like Crocodile here, but liking voice work and the quality of the actual dub are very separate issues go to »
1 James- very energetic his 'FEAR THE WRATH OF THE TIGER' is particularly good
2 Steve- also energetic, a bit cheesy though
3 Grant George- his voice is good, but it's not as energetic as it should be go to »
Okay I'll take my old order back, Kyle can get really annoying when he has to emote, Tong was fairly consistent, Skip is really good and I know people hate Richard's take but I thought it was fairly good and fit the more melancholy take of that OVA go to »
Good movie(although many characters got negligible screentime), very good voice acting(although I did think most of the voice actors sounded better/had better replacements in II V) although I did think Ken, Cammy(though Debra did improve in II V) and Eliza sounds pretty blah go to »
She had generally a good voice throughout the whole series(well except 5) even if 3 sounded almost Betty DeVilleish but I guess Jessica Gee starting with 7 is my favourite but Dorothy is very close go to »
@Ross123 Well like Donkey, Diddy's current voice sounds a lot like Kevin's clip unfortunately Kevin's take is really flat, so by default Andrew is the better voice for actually not sounding flat go to »
So Doug Stone is Jiang Wei since 4 other than the two short time replacements, meh he was somewhat okay in Warriors Orochi even if it's too soft for a hothead but his 4 and 7 voice are awful(and still has that soft rasp) DW2, Joshua Seth and DW3 are my favourites go to »
2 Hideo(he had a good voice, it's just his acting is really flat, make sense, he wasn't planning to be a voice actor in the end)
4 John(he's stiff like Hideo but I'm sorry but I never warmed up to his voice) go to »
@rosebr10 Laura is very talented but frankly her voice is very feminine and while the Japanese actresses also has a higher cutesy voice, I found Lia's slightly tougher more balanced direction is much much better go to »
@Sharkssmart Knew this would happen, the moment I say anything good of the 4Kids voices it's gonna happen, apparently the only right way to see this show is soooo Funimation X9000!!!, they're so godly with every single role yeah sure
Sorry but it's my opinion, I even prefer the Japanese audio over Funimation(And 4Kids but everyone else hates it) go to »
1 Rob Paulsen
2 Michael J Gough
3 Sebastian Arceleus
4 Sean Astin
5 Nolan North
6 Greg Abbey
7 Matt Hill
8 Carlos Alazraqui
9 Josh Pais/Laurie Faso/Tim Kelleher tie all of them sound the same to me and I don't like any of them
10 Alan Ritchson
11 Sean Schemmel go to »
@Ross123 They're mostly fine really, I rated Charles on the bottom half but it was still one of his better roles, I just thought Mario should sound rougher and lower though(and Walker happened to fit both the best...) I wonder how it would be like if he took Ronald Ruben's take like it was initial planned before Charles decided it would sound too initimidating
Marc was relatively good, he did a good job in that sloppy mess of a game even though he had to say some awkward lines
Peter... his voice isn't terrible but his acting sounds weirdly flat here
Unknown's voice is one of the better in that game but yet it's both flat and is more of that inspector voice you said than a rough and tumble plumber go to »
@Ross123 Well that's where he vanished after 2005 just voicing Pokemon, that's the reason we have good ole Dan Green for the rest of 4Kids dun, too bad his time was even more limited than James' cause that's the exact voice I imagine Vector to have go to »
@Ross123 Well it was nasally for both but yes Donatello is a million times better
I know what he means, but I think he misread my line I was using it as a sarcasm when I put her as worst Bubsy as in 'What could go wrong with a voice like that?' not that 'How bad is that voice anyway?' go to »
@Ross123 Looking at the list again, it's weird they replaced Spike since he's in the same area as Yuri and is more or less the same price to hire, these two appear in a lot of the same video games even go to »
@Starscreamsfan Lawl Apostolina is top three now?(he's my vote), I thought he did a good blend of youthfulness goofiness and seriousness, I know everyone else hates Cassling but it could be the material he's saddled with there were some point I know he could do better, Eddie Frierson was too over the top goofy for my side in a more serious material, Scott I can understand since the cartoon was pretty goofy to start with but not so much with Eddie go to »
@Ross123 Also after some more Mario games on the gamecube urg Deanna, there are some games I like her work but she can get so looooouuuuuuudddddd, Kate and Jen sound less ear piercing and sounding bouncy and happy to boot go to »
@Ross123 So I finished watching Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric somewhere, I will say this- most of Kirk's weird delivery is all the bad material he has, there were some moments he sounds relatively good go to »
@Ross123 As I said on Peach's page she could sound okay)that clip on this site was absolutely horrible(though her screams as Peach could get really ugly) and while Samantha got less irritating as Toadette this is a case I feel like Jen's departure of Nintendo is badly missed on my side, she's so cuuuute as Toadette go to »
1 Walker Boone
2 Ronald Ruben
3 Lou Albano
4 Marc Graue
5 Charles Martinet- Too bad Charles never went with Ronald Ruben's direction...
6 Peter Cullen- decent voice, very flat acting
7 UVA- okay voice but doesn't fit, flat acting go to »

@Ross123 And Kazumi's version is uber cutie go to »
Not sure if she'll get a comparisson since Kazumi just makes noises and the Mario tennis was also unintelligible but for voices I think Kazumi is the worst, the women are better especially the voice in Mario Tennis go to »

@Ross123 Doesn't really stop that really generic voice even if he's the first even if he had no material beforehand, congrats Bill, now I can't tell the difference with Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore on that show go to »

@Ross123 And speeeaking of James Carter, he's a good voice actor but from what I heard his voice is usually extremely goofy like this one(it sounds very similar to his well known role, Gary Oak just scratchier infact) go to »
