Do you like Fairy tales? Folklore? Just stories about magic in general?

Then Grimm Verse is the place for you!

Grimm verse is the story of a team of mages whose sole responsibility is keeping both the magical and the human separate but balanced. Young and inexperienced, they rely on the Files (fairy tales + lore), items and one another.

The overall format of this is purely audio. A concise story has already been written and finished so all I need are your voices. All "episodes" will be able on Tindeck in case you are wondering where that would go to.

There are male and female roles for the main cast which I tried to balance out.

Minor roles will open now and again, though I may ask the main cast to do those instead.

If you would like feedback, please say so. I actually enjoy gving criticism and suggestions but don't do so automatically due to previous outbursts from individuals who can't handle being told they aren't the very best.

MAIN CHARACTERS. One of Natasha's friends and one of the few that doesn't put up with her. Carson is a bit abrasive when it comes down to it. He has a bit of a rumble and is the overall guy you get intimidated by without even knowing him. Carson is surprisingly a rule follower, unless he thinks his way is better. He usually follows what Celeste or Rhonda says and happens to be Elliot's brother.

Carson's voice should be deep and serious for the most part. Sarcasm (if any) is usually dry and more with annoyance than amusement most of the time.

MAIN CHARACTER. one of Natasha's least cooperative members. Celeste likes doing things her way and isn't particularly fond of working with others. She is far more dry in her demeanor than Carson, who is probably one of the only ones that she finds amusing, though it could be because they grew up together.

Celeste's voice should be a bit deep and surly for the most part. She is African American if that helps to get an idea.

MAIN CHARACTER. Natasha doesn't like Rhonda but Rhonda is impartial. She is very fun loving and gets along with just about anyone. She tries her best to be the upbeat and positive one though when she breaks...she really breaks.

Rhonda's voice ranges through anything except extremes (Too deep too high are a no) She pours whatever she feels into her words, be it positive or negative. She also has an air of confidence but not smugness.

MAIN CHARACTER. Petulant and immature are the best words to describe Elliot. The mage has a way with words and he certainly uses it. Elliot is the best there is with spells and his charisma gets him by a lot of things. Being smart helps a bit, but it doesn't end the fact that he's really selfish and a bit of a coward.

NOTE: You may be required to "sing" or "Chant" for short intervals if casted.

Elliot's voice should be an average tone. He can be very sarcastic and seem to have a solid resolve, but he will trail off if he thinks he's losing an argument.

MAIN CHARACTER. Celeste's upbeat, tech/magic savvy younger sister. Felicia is the friendliest girl the universe has to offer. She usually sing songs when she talks. Also, even if she is light humored, she has a really horrible temper. She is Natasha's right hand and prides herself in being so

Felicia's voice is over excited almost all of the time, so if you want to go with a higher register of voice, that's perfectly acceptable.

MAIN CHARACTER. Jayce is laid back and also Felicia's unnofficial tech assistant. Jayce isn't the best at potion mixing or spell making, but he's a really great diplomat when it comes to talking to the fae. He's the kind of guy who breaks the awkward silence and gets things going.

Jayce's voice should be laid back and relaxed with maybe a hint of excitement about something he really likes. He can be awkward and not notice it.

NOTE: He uses a few spanish words mixed into his English, and if you happen to have a bit of an accent thats fine.

YOU DON't Have to be fluent in Spanish or speak Spanish to play this role. You may replace the spanish words/phrases for English if you are more comfortable.

MAIN CHARACTER. Tessa is down to earth but not nearly as uncooperative as Celeste. Tessa is easily surprised and goes with the flow of life. She is very Care free and the exact opposite of high strung. She's also very good at creating rhymes on the spot and challenges Carson quite a bit.

Tessa's voice should be full of excitement and wonder, as if she can't believe half the stuff she's saying. She'll laugh awkwardly when scared of something though that tends to be a rare occasion.
NOTE: Tessa likes to sing and is fascinated by songs. She hums a lot and can do a bit of sing song

QUESTIONABLE IMPORTANCE. MAIN CHARACTER LATER ON. Ken is the only member on the team to not be a mage. Instead he is a fairy and a pain for everyone. He's very arrogant and very vain. He really thinks his species is superior to everyone else. He also likes to gamble favors, or sell them, whichever sounds best. He's also a major flirt and makes no differences between genders.

Ken's voice should be full of arrogance and sarcasm. Be the biggest jerk you can be while still sounding attractive is what I can say for him.

  FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
• Why does my MP3 not upload?
We understand that some users are getting errors when uploading MP3 files. Certain encodings will not be compatible with the upload code. Originally Audacity saved MP3s worked at the time Casting Call was written. However the software may have changed the way it saves MP3s. At an unknown future time, the process will change where auditions will be recorded and saved directly on the site. In the meantime, please ask fellow members who have success with MP3 uploads how they are saving/encoding their files. Thanks and apologies for the inconvenience.
• Why is there a limit to 4 active projects per member?
While a project owner is welcome to have as many active projects running as they wish outside BTVA, the limit is imposed because having too many active projects can be somewhat "unrealistic". We want those who are auditioning to feel that each project is getting the attention and quality it deserves given auditioners themselves are putting in their own time and effort. Once a project owner flags a project as "Completed", they are welcome to create a new project.
• Can I audition more than once for a character?
The system is built to allow ONE audition per character. This is to avoid having a number of auditions from the same member and making the project owner have to listen to all of them. For now, if you or the project owner wishes you to submit another audition, the project owner will need to "Delete" your audition. The project owner can do this in the "Edit Character/Manage Auditions" link.
• How do I flag a character as being Cast?
As a project owner you will see a "Edit Character/Manage Auditions" link for each character. Clicking it will allow you to Cast, Backup or Pass an audition. Casting a character will prevent new auditions from being submitted for that character.
• Why do I need a valid email address?
If you audition for a project and are cast in a role, you will notified by email.
• How do I contact members cast for a project?
You can contact members using Private Messaging feature available here in the forums.
