PROJECT INFORMATION:

Revelations is a six-episode machinima series by Dreamtime Visions Media using the game, Star Wars: Jedi Academy. Each episode is approximately ten to fifteen minutes in length and combines elements from Star Wars and 24. All episodes have been filmed and the first episode is currently being edited.

The machinima series features a completely original Star Wars storyline with a strong character-focus and various highly-choreographed, large-scale action sequences. The series is set in the years following the Yuuzhan Vong war and focuses on a conflict between the rebuilding galaxy and various criminal and terrorist threats. The narrative focuses on the journey of "Lorne Tararn", a Commander of the elite 'CorSec' force, as he spearheads the galactic fightback, struggles with his own demons, and is propelled to the forefront of an incredible chain of events that will determine the fate of the galaxy. There are approximately thirty roles that still need to be cast. These range from a few remaining main characters to a significant number of smaller roles.

AUDITION DEADLINE:

The audition deadline is March 24. Dreamtime Visions Media will reply to each and every auditioner, regardless of whether or not you were successful in receiving a role.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. It is preferred that auditions are sent to dreamtimevisions@yahoo.com.au, but they can be submitted here if desired. If emailed, please include the name you use for voice acting, the roles in which you are auditioning for, and any questions you may have.

2. Audio quality needs to be good. People with reasonably clear mics will be considered, those with poor quality mics will not.

3. All lines need to be recorded in high quality, individual audio files. WAV is preferred, but high quality MP3 is acceptable.

4. All files must be zipped in a folder (.zip or .rar are both fine).

5. If you received a role, you will be expected to complete the final lines immediately in the week or two following the March 17 audition deadline. If you are going to be busy or preoccupied in that period, please do not audition.

6. You may be required to follow some voice directing if your audition is promising and/or when recording the final lines if your audition is successful.

  FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
• Why does my MP3 not upload?
We understand that some users are getting errors when uploading MP3 files. Certain encodings will not be compatible with the upload code. Originally Audacity saved MP3s worked at the time Casting Call was written. However the software may have changed the way it saves MP3s. At an unknown future time, the process will change where auditions will be recorded and saved directly on the site. In the meantime, please ask fellow members who have success with MP3 uploads how they are saving/encoding their files. Thanks and apologies for the inconvenience.
• Why is there a limit to 4 active projects per member?
While a project owner is welcome to have as many active projects running as they wish outside BTVA, the limit is imposed because having too many active projects can be somewhat "unrealistic". We want those who are auditioning to feel that each project is getting the attention and quality it deserves given auditioners themselves are putting in their own time and effort. Once a project owner flags a project as "Completed", they are welcome to create a new project.
• Can I audition more than once for a character?
The system is built to allow ONE audition per character. This is to avoid having a number of auditions from the same member and making the project owner have to listen to all of them. For now, if you or the project owner wishes you to submit another audition, the project owner will need to "Delete" your audition. The project owner can do this in the "Edit Character/Manage Auditions" link.
• How do I flag a character as being Cast?
As a project owner you will see a "Edit Character/Manage Auditions" link for each character. Clicking it will allow you to Cast, Backup or Pass an audition. Casting a character will prevent new auditions from being submitted for that character.
• Why do I need a valid email address?
If you audition for a project and are cast in a role, you will notified by email.
• How do I contact members cast for a project?
You can contact members using Private Messaging feature available here in the forums.
