A fairly sarcastic person and occasionally makes jokes at the other Investigation Team members' expense, but he is, for the most part, the most mature of the group (most notably is the fact that attempts to target his personal insecurities, more often than not, fall flat). He has a sharp mind, and is able to quickly realize the trick behind the tournament that forces the group to fight one another. He deeply cares for his friends and one of the few ways to truly anger him is to threaten either them or Nanako which causes him to become very cold.

Mitsuru is calm, confident, mature, responsible, very intelligent and bilingual. She is also good friends with Akihiko Sanada.

In Persona 3, Aigis' initial personality is simply to obey orders, although she is drawn to the protagonist and begins breaking into his room at night to be with him. Later on, she developed emotions, becoming compassionate and loyal to her friends, though she struggles to fully understand her new emotions. After awakening to the Wild Card, Aigis' personality further develops into her current personality of a sweet, gentle, empathetic and strong-hearted young woman with a talent for leadership.

He is often the target for jokes about his lack of muscles and body strength, and fights with kunai.
He doesn't usually think before he says something, which results in him sticking his foot in his mouth, and unintentionally insulting someone. He displays genuine regret after these instances, however, apologizing or offering to make it up to them. He tends to be a bit of a wannabe ladies' man and has a fascination for girls. But beneath most of that (more so in the original game), he shows great insight with decent deducing, and is often on task of the situation on hand, and can be very serious at times

Naoto acts very mature in spite of her age. As a descendant of a respected lineage of famous detectives, she wears formal clothing, and deepens her voice when she speaks in a sophisticated, stilted manner.

Akihiko is serious and determined, as well as cracking small jokes on small occasions, and tends to show his excitement for a big challenge. He also has an aggressive side, which he usually demonstrates when dealing with Shadows.

A student of Yasogami High School, Kanji often skips classes and gets into many fights. Despite his seemingly rough personality, it is revealed that much of this is due to misunderstandings, such as when he went after a biker gang that was causing a disturbance in his neighborhood, which he only did to stop them from disturbing his mother. Compared to the rest of the team, Kanji tends to be a bit slow on the uptake, but he is well-focused on getting to the main point, and making sure the team does not back down from taking too much time on making choices.

She is a caring individual who doesn't want to hurt, let alone kill, anyone she cares about. When she thought she was the human student council president, she was serious, strict, and responsible.

The growth of her ego can be observed within Labrys's thoughts. Moments after her first activation, Labrys's thoughts are extremely simple to understand and consist of the usual technical statements. The more Plumes of Dusk she absorbs, Labrys becomes increasingly eloquent and starts to develop emotions, eventually culminating in her friendship with Unit #024. Even more interestingly, this does not apply to her speech that much since she speaks with an accent directly after her activation.

Being a comic relief character, Teddie is seen flirting at the girls of the Investigation Team on numerous occasions, but fails every time. Other than that, he is bubbly and cute and is known to lighten the mood when investigating the case, much like Chie. He idolizes and respects Yu, to the point of calling him 'Sensei.'

Chie is a stereotypical tomboy, though manages to stay feminine. She has a bright and upbeat personality, often trying to cheer up the group by joking about the case. Generally, she has a short temper with Yosuke and exploits this in order to get her beloved steak for free at Junes. She also has a poster of Bruce Lee in her room.

Yukiko Amagi is a rich, elegant young woman who is popular with boys and girls alike. Often scoring the best during exams, she is very intelligent and often repeats the material with her best friend Chie Satonaka. As a smart, beautiful, feminine, respectful and fair-skinned teenager, she has attracted many male characters in Inaba, but acts uncomfortably when someone mentions her beauty. At first, Yukiko is very introverted, but she gets livelier after she is rescued from the Midnight Channel. She also truly appreciates and cares about her friends, as well as her parents and staff from the Inn, and often vows to become an even stronger, more dependable person so that one day she, in turn, will be able to support and protect them just like they have did to her in the past.

Rise is cheerful, outspoken, naughty, cute, and is quite boastful about herself, although very sweet deep down. She is referred to as a "dangerous girl" by Chie Satonaka, due to her boldness in flirting with the Protagonist, and her teasing of Yosuke Hanamura and Kanji Tatsumi. Rise is quickly annoyed by the smallest things, which ends up with her crying dramatically, and sometimes producing crocodile tears. She's rather childish and possessive; she once pouted and told the Protagonist he mustn’t call another girl “cute”. She has also shown her competitive side on many occasions, and she’s mocked Yukiko’s insecurity and her cooking.

Fuuka is a compassionate, shy, and timid person and a former member of S.E.E.S. She later appears to assist Mitsuru, Akihiko and Aigis in the P-1 Grand Prix.

A hard-working detective and father of Nanako, Dojima looked after Narukami during the Events of Persona 4. He is a very caring man, but is extremely serious when it comes to his work.

Nanako is a mature and kind person for a girl her age. She is quite responsible and reliable, and has handled a lot of housework, such as cooking and laundry in her home ever since her mother passed away. She loves Junes, in both its slogan and in visiting their Inaba branch with her family and friends. She tends to be shy around strangers, but adores spending quality time with her father and cousin whenever possible.

Once helped the party of Persona 3 (Akihiko, Mitsuru and Aigis) against the shadows in Tatsumi Port Island by selling them weapons under the table when he was an officer. He returns three years later as a detective and informs the party of the events that went on in Inaba.
