Casting Call BETA » Skyrim: the Adventures of Bob

Share/Save/Bookmark

Hey guys. So I made this new game to help voice actors of any level grow as performers. It focuses on voice acting and improv. You record some dialogue, then pass it onto someone else and they respond, then to the next etc. If you're interested, you can try it out at www.voicereact.com. There's now over 160 players and 2100 recordings made, and also chances to win monthly prize drawings. Come listen to the 300+ original scenes created so far. Thanks! Foxwolf

Description:
This is a project I considered doing for awhile. It is a very collaborative project so I will make sure to include you in everything that is happening as it is being made.

I plan to make it a series of videos based around Bob. Bob being a poor guy (and sometimes girl) just trying to make it out of his/her adventure alive and through the taunting of the narrator. I will probably need you throughout the entire series, so make sure you'll have the time to continue to work on this with me. Email me if you have any questions.

Name: Bob

Characteristics/Notes:
Poor guy can't seem to catch a break. There isn't much to say about his personality, just generally trying his best. Nothing too extravagant, just a normal voice. (Make sure your mic can handle you screaming in fear. That comes in later.)

Bob

Name: Bob
Gender: Male
Age: Adult
Characteristics/Notes:
A lizard person who has a hissing or raspy sounding voice (very mildly). He's a thief, tends to talk a little quietly, but does raise his voice at the narrator a lot. Keeps a pretty cool head in dangerous situations (so of course the narrator is going to push him to see how far it can go).

Audition Lines:
Line 1:
"(sarcastic) Oh yes, steal from a busy marketplace. Wonderful idea."

"Uh oh.."
Line 3:
"(deadpan) and I hope you burn in a house fire."

HELP
  FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
• Why does my MP3 not upload?
We understand that some users are getting errors when uploading MP3 files. Certain encodings will not be compatible with the upload code. Originally Audacity saved MP3s worked at the time Casting Call was written. However the software may have changed the way it saves MP3s. At an unknown future time, the process will change where auditions will be recorded and saved directly on the site. In the meantime, please ask fellow members who have success with MP3 uploads how they are saving/encoding their files. Thanks and apologies for the inconvenience.
• Why is there a limit to 4 active projects per member?
While a project owner is welcome to have as many active projects running as they wish outside BTVA, the limit is imposed because having too many active projects can be somewhat "unrealistic". We want those who are auditioning to feel that each project is getting the attention and quality it deserves given auditioners themselves are putting in their own time and effort. Once a project owner flags a project as "Completed", they are welcome to create a new project.
• Can I audition more than once for a character?
The system is built to allow ONE audition per character. This is to avoid having a number of auditions from the same member and making the project owner have to listen to all of them. For now, if you or the project owner wishes you to submit another audition, the project owner will need to "Delete" your audition. The project owner can do this in the "Edit Character/Manage Auditions" link.
• How do I flag a character as being Cast?
As a project owner you will see a "Edit Character/Manage Auditions" link for each character. Clicking it will allow you to Cast, Backup or Pass an audition. Casting a character will prevent new auditions from being submitted for that character.
• Why do I need a valid email address?
If you audition for a project and are cast in a role, you will notified by email.
• How do I contact members cast for a project?
You can contact members using Private Messaging feature available here in the forums.
