Interesting how he was in one Cardfight under his real name and an alias for the other. My guess is that between the production of those dubs he went union to do more work with Ocean in Vancouver, but kept working non-union under a completely obvious alias for whatever reason.

I though this too but the problem is that Howard was credited in Cardfight!! Vanguard for every episode his character appears and stuff like Buddyfight was more than likely recorded around the same time as Vanguard who were done by the same English dub so it doesn't make sense he'd use an alias for one and than not use on another.

It's weird. Given that he's used Hanson and Howard for both recent "All-Alberta" productions (all Alberta except for Don Brown and that one Dobson brother) and recent Alberta/British Columbia hybrid dubs, I'm kind of doubting it's an alternate name being used to hide something.

While such caution is always advised (and you're right and smart to be suspicious), it just sounds too similar; add that to the very similar names (even same initials), and it just seems too unlikely to be a coincidence.

Also, FWIW, Ocean has screwed up before on what name they should have been using in the credits. I pointed out in another thread tonight how Don Brown got mistakenly credited in the "All-Alberta" production, Bibi Blockberg--when it should have been one of his Albertan nom-de-plumes (David Brown, Tony Valdez). They credited Doug McKeag in three episodes of Deltora Quest before realizing they should have been using Keith Hamill (McKeag hadn't used his real name on something in years.) They switched it to Hamill for the rest of the show.

It is likely, if Howard's character appears in Vanguard G and it lists Hanson instead then I would 100% agree.
For now I'm gonna leave this as a maybe/look into later.

wait those are all Don Brown's aliases?

also i guess this confirms my theory that William Scott is Michael Dobson.
