Yeah, I really enjoyed Kirby Morrow's work as the character, very recognizably him, but I personally felt it worked. I also LOVED his voice as SSJ3 Goku, his voice sounded so deep and powerful there, like a guy you would NOT want to mess with, definitely my favourite voice for that form for sure.

That said though, I have hope that Richard Ian Cox will do well, and even if he doesn't, he'll always have Inuyasha to fall back on as his most iconic role.

As a huge fan of his voice work in general...yes and no.

This was one of his most well known roles and I do think he was the best of The Ocean Goku voices but I think Richard Ian Cox will out do him in the role for sure.

Besides Kirby Morrow would have been far more suited to voice Future Trunks rather than Alistair Abell, and I'm hoping they at least gave him the role for Ocean's Kai dub as a bit of compensation.

In short, No.

Simply because I love Kirby Morrow's voice work, I think he is an amazing and talented voice actor of the Vancouver side of voice acting but Goku was easily his worst role. To me it felt like a huge downward step to the voice of the character to what we had previously, to me Ian James Corlett was the Definitive Goku from top to bottom.

Kirby was ok for me but I'm interested what Richard will do. My hope is that he will sound different from his standard InuYasha type voice and create something different for Goku.

The bigger question is when is this gonna happen?????

I would've liked to have seen how he could've improved with reprising.

But I'm sure Richard Ian Cox will be good.

To be honest, no. Personally in some ways I think he was a step down from Corlett in the role. Also I think he would have made a much better Future Trunks instead.

It'd be amazing if he got to become Future Trunks for Ocean Kai/Super.

Who knows if Ocean will ever dub Super? And if they do, will it takes as long as it's taking for them to release the Ocean dub of Kai? Which we've only heard about through the VA's. There is no footage or even release date to go off of. It's all shrouded in mystery.

I want to believe they're doing the Super dub that's airing on the Asian Toonami.
