I think Richard Epcar or Paul st Peter'd be better. Price is too "well-composed" & intelligent-sounding.

Those two have already played characters in it. I was trying to avoid repeats. Though I would have no problem with them taking that role.

I have to agree with Unknownsage on that one huzaifa_ahmed, as much as I want Richard Epcar as Uvogin since he has a history sharing roles with Akio Otsuka (Batou, Ansem, Giovanni in Generations) he already had voiced three characters in the show: Cherry, Bendot and Gozu, so having him voice another character would be too much on having to re-listen to the same voice all over again. Heck even the likes of Kyle Hebert, Lucien Dodge, and Ray Chase have also voiced so many different characters in the show already.

I would say Jamieson is a good pick for Uvogin since he previously voiced Rider / Iskandar in Fate/Zero another character originally voiced by Akio Otsuka. Not to mention that Tony Oliver who voice directed Hunter x Hunter also was the voice director for Fate/Zero, so it's very likely he could be cast as Uvogin.

In regards to your castings of the Phantom Troupe Unknown, their creative, although I do want to point out on some areas involving Bonolenov and Pakunoda:
  1. Bonolenov largely remained silent in the Yorknew City/Phantom Troupe arc and the character's first speaking appearance is during the Chimera Ant arc which would be a year away.
  2. Not to sure about Cindy Robinson for Pakunoda, not that I'm against your casting choice, but she hasn't been involved in ANY productions for Bang Zoom! entertainment since 2007/2008 and mostly seems to do her anime voice work at Studiopolis these days. Maybe Laura Post would be a good pick for her since she previously voiced Ragyo Kiryuin in Kill la Kill who happen to be one of the many roles from Romi Park.
  3. Veronica Taylor, same as Cindy Robinson, I haven't seen her in any new anime projects outside of doing Sailor Moon and I doubt she would be involve in any productions for Bang Zoom!

Also Unknownsage, did you also see my dream cast for the Yorknew/Phantom Troupe arc? If so any thoughts on the casting choices I put down for the characters?

As long as we're talking Uvogin and Phantom Troupe... I was really hoping for a Marc Diraison-voiced Uvo and I'm a little disappointed that's not happening now. Marc doesn't get to play oafish or bloodthirsty often, and he sounds low and rough enough for Uvo's build. It would have been a great change of pace. I mean I'm sure he'll be great as Ging, but it's a much more typical choice

I'll post a big nhb cast list later (still need to finish the whole show!) but here are some guesses for Yorknew in the meantime

Chrollo -- Kyle McCarley
Feitan -- Brian Beacock
Shalnark -- Either Zach Aguilar or Marianne Miller
Uvogin -- Uh... "Bob Johnson" if they can swing it
Pakunoda -- Kirsten Potter
Kortopi -- Derek Stephen Prince
Dalzollene -- Chris Niosi
Melody -- Kimlinh Tran

Agreed on the Marc thing. It's amazing how his most iconic role is as Guts and yet he often is cast to play smart characters.
Kyle-I have yet to fully hear his range. If he can do his calm voice but a bit more mature, I think he'd be great.
Brian-I could picture it
Zach or Marianne-both good picks. Especially be down for Marianne, feel like we don't get to hear her too often
Bob-not sure who that is
Kirsten-not too familiar with her, but does she still do non-union?
Derek-seems good
Chris-perfect
Kimlinh-Interesting choice, lol

Yeah good call on Cindy and Veronica. I just figured they were possibilities since it seems the bigger franchises do a better job with getting actors that do less frequent roles.

As for your list the ones I'd like the most for each role (of your suggestions and just looking at Phantom Troupe)
Chrollo: Johnny
Uvogin: Jamieson
Pakunoda: Julie
Phinxs: Xander
Feitan: Erik
Franklin: Patrick
Shizuku: Faye
Kortopi: Bryce

Sage, "Bob Johnson" is generally seen as Neil Kaplan's alias. He sort of reminds me the most of Akio actually, but he isnt really known for brutes, rather posh, aged guys. Jamieson Price is similar in that regard actually, though he has more brutes than Neil & also has a smaller voice than Neil. He's a good choice for Uvogin, though I'd like to see Neil take a crack if they can get him.

DAFan1995, FWIW, Jamieson also dubbed Akio in Zero Escape, Berserk, Valkyrie Profile, & Epcar also did in Samurai Champloo, Final Fantasy XIV, as well. Paul st Peter did so in JJBA as well (havent been thru his roles, there might be more.

Not keeping up with this dub (no cable right now unfortunately, though I'll buy it on Bluray for sure), so I cant comment on a ton of this, but yeah, Marc as Uvogin would be an interesting, inspired, out-of-the-box choice. Not quite what I'd expect, but cool nonetheless. My ideal choice wouldve been Fred Tatasciore (union Studiopolis dub), or John DiMaggio (near-impossible but he did a few dubs in the early 2000s.

Kyle - Not bad, although I do feel the role might be to young to voice Chrollo. I could see him as either Colt or Kanzai once the show reaches the Chimera Ant and 13th Chairman Elections arcs respectively.
Brian - Good choice, I definitely do picture him as Feitan.
Zach and Marianne - Would be cool to hear either one as Shalnark, especially Marianne.
Bob Johnson (Neil Kaplan) - Don't know about Neil since he hasn't been involved in any projects for Bang Zoom! lately.
Kirsten - Same as Neil, although unlike the him, she hasn't been involved in ANY productions for Bang Zoom! entertainment, and these days she's mostly involved doing Theatre and Audio book narration.
Derek - Looks Good.
Chris - Heck yes, would've had Patrick Seitz since he shared two roles from Takehito Koyasu
(Luke Valentine and Dio Brando). But if Patrick ends up voicing Franklin, then Chris would be a good choice for Dalzollene.
Kimlinh - Excellent choice, she was previously in the K-ON!! dub which was also voice directed by Tony Oliver, but we shall see!!

Agreed, I definitely am up for Marianne as Shalnark, although it's a shame she's now distancing herself from anime to be a business owner, and convention agent.

Kristen Potter was involved in a few non-union titles like Boys Be..., Daphne in the Brilliant Blue at New Generation Pictures along with Bleach and Naruto at Studiopolis. She seems to retired from anime voice work and now does Theatre and Audio book narration.

It all depends on the Actor/Actresses schedule and especially if the production team (directors, producers and casting director) at Bang Zoom! Entertainment are familiar with these actors and enjoy casting the ones they like to use in their dubs for the last 2-4 years. It's clearly a business all about relationships
