Default 2016 Category and Nomination Discussion

Hi everyone,

Here is where you can discuss and make note of VAs and performances from the 2016 year (January 1st 2016 through December 31st 2016) from television series, specials, feature films, direct-to-video titles, video games and shorts.

Some of these categories may change, be removed, others added, etc., by the time the awards actually role around in spring/early summer 2017, but hopefully these cover enough bases to get the discussion flowing. We like to hear what kind of roles and titles the community found impressive throughout the year. What shows had great ensembles? Who gave breathtaking performances? What characters really shone this year? Let us know!

(Please note that any discussion here will not necessarily have a direct effect or bearing on the awards, but is primarily a fun discussion topic you can deal with in the meantime)

(As always, the anime awards will be held separately so anime performances do not count toward the main awards)

If it's eligible, I think Gravity Falls should get in in everything. The show is amazing and only having Niki Yang win last year was very disappointing. It probably isn't even eligible since the last episode aired in 2016 and nothing else.

Also, FYC: The Loud House.

I'm sorry if I erased many of my Video Game FYC. It's because I'm not entirely sure about my FYC in video game. And also, I want for the admins to collect all voice clips before the awards, so that something like Life is Strange snub last year won't happened again because of lack of voice clips. I know it's a hard job because it's so difficult. My hope is, at least open the voting line before August.

BEST MALE VOCAL PERFORMANCE IN A TV SPECIAL/DIRECT-TO-DVD TITLE OR THEATRICAL SHORT
-Mark Hamill as the Joker in Batman: The Killing Joke
BEST FEMALE VOCAL PERFORMANCE IN A TV SPECIAL/DIRECT-TO-DVD TITLE OR THEATRICAL SHORT
-Anna Vocino as Jeannie in Batman: The Killing Joke
BEST VOCAL ENSEMBLE IN A TV SPECIAL/DIRECT-TO-DVD TITLE OR THEATRICAL SHORT

Those are just a few suggestions I have for the Direct to DVD section

Also maybe an honorary award for Joe Alasky, seeing as how he was taken from us too soon

Angry Re: 2016 Category and Nomination Discussion

Actually, as I say in BTVA Television Awards comments, I'm very disappointed that Jason Ritter, Kristen Schaal, Alex Hirsch, and Jackie Buscarino were not nominated, and it's become double disappointment because this year Gravity Falls doesn't have a chance to get nominated because only aired one episode this year. I only hope Weirdmageddon were listed as Special/DVD and make them nominated, eventhough that's maybe almost impossible. P.S.: I'm also disappointed that Dipcifica will never happened.

Giving this a nice ol' bump since we're now in the 2017 year.

These are some good suggestions, guys, and rest assured that we're on the same page for many of them and are given a good look at the others.

Anyone else want to pipe in with their thoughts? We'd be interested in hearing what kind of performances you think were stand-outs from direct-to-video/shorts/specials.
