Default Will being a journalist negatively affect me becoming "the talent"?

Recently, i've been doing some minor journalism work for online music magazines and other places here and there, and i've been planning on doing Youtube-style reviews and such.

However, this is sort of to pass the time and while i indeed love doing it, i worry that i will become stigmatized as so much of a critic anything i create will have to live up to "the standard" i've set with media i talk about or somehow misalign my reputation if i ever want to become an actor, translator, or writer.

Does being a journalist on topics directly related to the medium you are working in as "the talent" (i.e. actors, writers, directors, other creatives) harm your chances of success? Could it help?

Depends on what kind of journalism it is.

First off, apologies for my lateness, i just noticed this thread got responded to.

I mainly work in music journalism, but i also want to venture out into animation and film/ tv journalism.

I review music and sometimes write features about it.
