Default Favorite Bands/Singers

Nothing serious, just wanted to see what kind of musicians people around here were in to.

Hands down my favorite singer is Freddie Mercury. Just... just listen to this.

That is incredible. I'm still left speechless by that every time.

In terms of Freddie Mercury, I always liked this: https://youtube.com/watch?v=fJ9rUzIMcZQ

My favorite bands change a lot, but I've always liked Coldplay.

First, let's get the GOAT out of the way.

Now for my actual list. Now you all get to see what a hipster I am.

Bonus: I don't listen to these artists regularly, but I like the individual songs and they give a good idea of my taste.

"Don't Let Me Down" - Chainsmokers ft. Daya

"Do It" - Nelly Furtado

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Tomoyasu Saito remix) - Tomoyo Harada

Hard Cocktail - Taku Takahashi

"Hideaway" - Kiesza

"crabbuckit" - kos

"La La" - Ashlee Simpson

"Navy Blue: Max Miza Mix" - Rina Aiuchi

"Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt" - We Are Scientists

"Rain Falls" (ft. Kissey Asplund) - Kenichiro Nishimara

"Still Dre" (ft. Snoop Dogg) - Dr. Dre

"Express Yourself" - NWA

"Samurai Blue" - ZZ

I'm just gonna be lazy and copy and paste my favourite bands/singers from DA.

And One, Rammstein, E Nomine, Nightwish, Tarot, Angra, Marco Hietala, Tenacious D, Ylvis, God Module, Type O Negative, KMFDM, Praga Khan, The Prodigy, Celldweller, Blue Stahli, Disturbed, Korn, Gravity Kills, Cryoshell, O-zone, Radu Sirbu, Visualeyez, Sparklehorse

My favourite genres in particular tend to be metal, rock, rap, techno, synthpop, new wave, EBM, opera, classical music, and pop, but I'll pretty much like anything as long as it sounds good to me (except country, largely don't like country music.)

I'm really into "Weird Al" Yankovic right now. Well, I always was, but I saw him live in July, so especially since then. Plus, he has an entry in the database here! For another voice acting connection, Tress MacNeille sing in a few of his songs, did a voice on The Weird Al Show, and appears in the flesh in his music video for the song "Ricky."

I also like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and some other British rock from the 1960s, as well as Chuck Berry and old Christmas music, like by Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, etc. My tastes don't usually get very modern.

For brevity's sake, I'll just list the ones that each have a significant chunk in my library, which consist of Devin Townsend, Genesis, Idiot Flesh, Mr. Bungle, Pink Floyd, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Susumu Hirasawa and System of a Down.

I still enjoy Isis, but quite frankly, I can see why there are some folks out there who either don't listen to their material or used to dig them, but don't anymore because of how unfortunate the name is. There's bound to be other factors, though IME, that's usually what comes up.
