I used Star now, didn't like it. VAUK, VAC are pretty useful.
I like BTVA a lot, but my loyalty lies quite a bit with VAA. That's not to say I haven't had horrible run-in there, but it was my first VA forum. I think BTVA is a close second for sure, but I have found more often than not people disappear on me, but that's just a think that happens with VAing

Not really a reply, just a question that I didn't know where to post. What app could I use for my laptop to record my voice, that would make the 'submit audition' thing on here accept mine? Apparently my sound recorder doesn't have the MP3 format, so does anybody have any safe downloads or apps they could recommend for me?

I'm quite curious about Voices.com, is it worth the money and is it real? I'm half afraid that it might be a scam since I know a lot of them out there are.

Thank you to everyone that posted all the useful info and personal experiences. I've always been interested in voice acting and have been trying to get the confidence over the last few years to jump in. This site seems pretty cool as do the people. Now I need to work on my voices.

Beware though, they have very tight requirements and a strict QA process, so be well prepared before taking on a project that you might get offered. They require you not only to narrate but to fully produce with a set deadline.

Hey James,

I just signed up here because I made a thread over at Voice Acting Alliance just like this looking for other voice acting forums/sites where you could audition for paid gigs and got directed here and a few other places. Nobody had mentioned ACX.com though so found your suggestion really helpful. I just checked it out and started a profile. Thank You!

Iíve also been auditioning on Newgrounds.com in the voice acting forum and here as well. I was wondering if anyone knew what a good average time frame might be for picking up gigs. Right now itís only the first month so I donít expect much yet. Iíve just been auditioning anywhere I can find where people might be active. I havenít used forums much in life so they always look like long abandoned threads that havenít been visited in a long time. But I think thatís just how Iím perceiving them.
