Default What happened to the classic New York voice acting pool?

The majority of classic voice actors such as Mel Blanc, June Foray, Paul Frees, Daws Butler, and the like were based in the same Los Angeles voice acting pool that continues to do voiceover in the majority of popular western animation today.

However, there was also an active voice acting pool in New York as well for quite a few older cartoons. Examples of cartoons mostly recorded on the East Coast include the Paramount cartoons from Fleischer and Famous Studios, Terrytoons, the Total Television cartoons like Underdog, and early anime dubs like Speed Racer, Astro Boy, and Kimba the White Lion.

The classic East Coast voice acting pool didn't seem to be quite as strict as many modern voice acting pools. For instance, while Arnold Stang mainly did voiceover in New York, he also did voice work for Hanna-Barbera as well, most famously Top Cat. And Goofy's voice actor Pinto Colvig briefly left Disney to voice act at Fleischer in the late thirties and early forties.

However...does anyone know if the original New York voice acting pool is still around today? The last cartoon I can think of that used this pool is Courage the Cowardly Dog, which had Lionel Wilson, Peter Fernandez, Arnold Stang, Allen Swift, and Billie Lou Watt as actors (with occasional LA guest stars like Kath Soucie and Jim Cummings). Yeah, some of these actors also showed up in the Spark Plug Entertainment films, but the less said about those, the better.

Did it evolve into 4Kids? (AFAIK, there's no overlap between 4Kids and the classic East Coast voice actors, but I could be wrong.) Did it vanish completely after all its original voice actors died? What happened to it?

I think there was some sort of transition beginning in the 90's (think PB&J Otter). Or maybe 4Kids used a completely different pool of actors.

The last time I watched a cartoon recorded in New York was "Pinkalicious and Peterrific", which premiered on PBS in 2018. And that show uses actors from both 4Kids and the 90's pool.
Many rivers to cross...
