I'm not sure that it technically counts as an anime per se, but I definitely see some anime-esque influences within the art style. But I figured that I should chime in with it anyway, on the off-chance that it does count.

RWBY (pronounced as "Ruby").

Creator: Monty Oum.
Writers: Miles Luna, Kerry Shawcross & Monty Oum.
Directors: Monty Oum & Kerry Shawcross.

Starring: Lindsey Jones, Kara Eberle, Arryn Zech & Barbara Dunkleman.
Featuring: Miles Luna, Samantha Ireland, Jen Brown, Monty Oum, Michael Jones, Kerry Shawcross, Shannon McCormick, Jen Taylor, Gray G. Haddock & Jessica Nigri.
Composers: Jeff Williams, Steve Goldshein & Alex Abraham.

Executive Producers: Matt Hullum & Burnie Burns.
Production Company: Rooster Teeth Productions.

Number of Episodes: 16 (Volume 1), 12 (Volume 2, 4 episodes currently released), 4 (Trailers).
Rating: No idea, but most likely rated M for Mature Audience.
Genres: Action, Comedy, Drama, Science-fantasy.

Apparently, it's also being made into a video game, titled, RWBY: Grim Eclipse.

Here are my recommendations. You might have seen some of them, but here they:
Seven of Seven (Shichinin no Nana),
Cat Planet Cuties (Asobi ni Iku yo!),
Vampire Knight,
Trinity Blood,
Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch,
Princess Tutu,
Record of Lodoss War,
Sailor Moon,
Princess Knight (Ribbon no Kishi),
Cutie Honey (1973 version),
Rurouni Kenshin,
Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne,
Card Captor Sakura,
The Vision of Escaflowne,
GeGeGe no Kitaro (1968 version and the 1985 version)
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan (Nurarihyon no Mago),
Earl and Fairy,
Magical Meow-Meow Taruto, and..
Kidō Shinsengumi Moeyo Ken (O.A.V.)

So if you folks love vintage anime even from the 60s and 70s you'll love my choices. I really wish Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and GeGeGe no Kitaro (anime series and films) would come out on DVD!

Stand aside, normies.

Shirobako (24 episodes)
An anime about making anime and following your dreams. Super inspiring but also teaches you a lot about making anime. If you've seen Sakura Quest, this is that but better. No dub.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K (3 seasons, 50ish episodes)
Really fast paced comedy series that's absolutely hilarious. Saiki is an invincible psychic but the humor comes from the fact that he's arguably the most normal and well adjusted of the cast. Unfortunately not on the site yet. I'd recommend the sub over the dub. Star studded seiyuu lineup with Hiroshi Kamiya, Daisuke Ono, and more.

Yuri!!! on Ice (12 episodes)
A sports/romantic comedy series about ice skating. Also unfortunately not on the site yet. Super stylish (directed by Sayo Yamomoto, who is one of the best anime directors in Japan) and well animated by Mappa.

Teekyuu (108 episodes)
Don't be daunted by the episode count, every episode is 2 minutes. A zany off the wall fast paced comedy ostensibly about tennis. Directed by the person who directed Berserk 2016. Really.

A Place Further than the Universe (12 episodes)
In the latest entry of "cute girls do X" comes "cute girls go to Antarctica." But it's far from stupid or fetish bait. It's a heartwarming story about finding purpose and coming to terms with loss. No dub.

The Tatami Galaxy (11 episodes)
Probably my favorite anime. An existential off the wall school life campus romantic comedy with insane animation and character design, courtesy of Maasaki Yuasa.

Little Witch Academia (25 episodes)
In my mind, the best and most accessible of trigger's catalogue. The description is the title. Unfortunately not on the site yet. Don't see the dub, it's pretty mediocre imo.

Bananya (26 episodes)
It's a cat who lives in a banana. Why are you still here?

Penguin Strike. Don't ever underestimate the penguins. :p
