The trailer for Book 2 is out. And a premiere date for September has been set.

I for one welcome the expanded color palette compared to the first season. And Wan Shi Tong coming back is pretty neat. Oh, and the airbending kids getting bigger roles is nice

And we won't have to wait forever for the premiere.

Looks great. I can only imagine what the writers could come up with in this season.

Naturally, as a teaser trailer, you are often easily fooled by possibilities, but that's also part of the fun. It gets your mind flowing with possibilities even though 90% of them won't be what your mind had planned.

The kids' parts may not be any greater than they were in the last book: a few scenes to throw in some humor and a connection because Korra leaves the island and we don't see them again.

Asami is still around. The trailer shows Avatar Roku ripple-morph into Avatar Kyoshi, so I assume we will see Kuruk at least for a moment as well. And from Wikipedia: "Book 2 will also feature [...] Steven Yeun as Wan, the first Avatar" so we will probably get an origin story as to how the avatar came to be.

I'm curious who that new guy is at the end who gets hit by the rainbow beam of light and appears to then have all of the avatar's powers (the sphere is similar to the one Aang projects at the end of the first series.) Will he be an enemy or just in the right/wrong place?

One a side note related to the kids: they are connected to my second favorite scene from the first season: "Stay away from my dad's ex-girlfriend." *WHAP! Home run!*

Whenever I picture how Wan Shi Tong could've possibly escaped his buried library, I can only think of the beginning of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxgHLsF2hio

Man, the animation is breath taking. I am so excited to see this. I felt the first season was very strong, but I feel the next few seasons will be incredible. I just hope I'm not building myself up to disappointment. But this creative team has had a great track record so far.....

I think Book 2 will make up for the shortcomings of Book one.

September can not come any sooner.

I think he's immortal as he's clearly some sort of spirit whose abilities we don't fully know. He could easily have bended the sand to make a hole and escape

New episode was OK, I'll wait to pass full judgement though, cause we all know the really good episodes come later. Sadly, although I liked Season One a lot, it had problems. I was hoping we'd be passed them by now, but they are still present (Korra's bull headed character formula where she does something stupid in the beginning of the episode and learns her lesson in the end is still a drag.) But, it shows some incredible promise. I love Tenzin's extended family; Bumi is pretty awesome, and Kya is strangely pretty attractive. More focus on Korra's family is cool too. Bolin's constant flirting was a tad annoying, but could of been worse. I also am starting to see a bit more personality in Mako, which I like. I hope Bei Fong and General Iroh II appear again.
