Pokemon Dub Question

This post/ thread is about a question i have regarding an issue with the various Pokemon dubs. Uhh, not sure what else to say here:

Why were the Pokemon cast members forbid from reprizing their roles or recording for other series (i don't remember which of the two happened, if any)? Like, i remember reading James Cathcart and Ted Lewis (among others) being mentioned as cut out of any non-Pokemon recording. Or were they just canned and forbid from reprizing their roles, despite the location of dubbing remaining the same?

I keep hearing about some contract-wise controversy regarding the later end of NYC's dubbing of the franchise, so any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: Apparently they changed the cast and that was the controversy.
