I went with the 90's movies half by default and half because I'm a Jim Henson fan.

Nick 2012 for me.
It strikes a nice balance between comedy, drama, action and is ultimately a love letter to the franchise while still doing new and creative things. The voice cast is wonderful and it's really made me become a fan of the franchise. I like everything else but the 2012 series just clicks with me. |

I guess the first 4 seasons of the 2003 series. They stand out as some solid and enjoyable stories. Plus it's the series I grew up with. Although maybe I could go with 2012, since it brings in a lot.
Otherwise, I would say the IDW comic book series are my favorite. |

While I think that most of the TMNT incarnations have their pros and cons (let's ignore stuff like Next Mutation or current movies that are mostly just cons), and overall are very different takes on the material (which is one of the reasons why the franchise is so fascinating), in the end I go with the 90's movie. Personally, I feel that it hits just the right balance between the silly humor and serious story telling. Plus, as a huge fan of good ol' practical effects, watching the Jim Henson's group doing their magic alone is worth the price of admission. I even liked the first sequel fine (it was much sillier, but in a fun way).
Although, based on what I have heard, the IDW comics might become my favorite once I get around reading them. Last edited by The Doctor; 05-14-2016 at 08:02 AM. |

I personally love the 2003 show the most. But I do like the 2012 show, the 90s movie, the 1987 show and the 2007 movie too.

Kinda sad that you didn't list the Red Sky seasons of the original Turtles cartoon. I mean, yes, it's still the same show, but the tone is totally different. Season 8 was my favorite of the Red Sky ones, featuring a more bloodthirsty Shredder and finally delving more into Krang's warlord past. I wish it was listed as it's own separate incarnation, but since it's part of the 87 show, then I guess that means that I prefer the classic cartoon. The movies I also enjoyed and the 2003 and 2012 were also pretty awesome..
